“Over here, Zhou!”
“Zhou, who is that?”
“Is that your daughter, Zhou?”
Zhou has to hold back his smile at the sudden burst of questions from reporters and paparazzi as he makes his way into the paddock with a little girl who was his carbon copy in his arms.
He was holding hands with a woman no one had seen on the paddock before. The three all had matching outfits. Zhou wore an oversized beige button-up with baggy white pants. The woman wore a long white skirt with a beige sweater top. Meanwhile, Zhou’s carbon copy wore a beige overall dress with a white button-up underneath.
With the way the young girl clung to him and the woman held onto his arm, it no doubt that it was his family. Nobody even knew he was dating someone, much less dating someone AND having a daughter with them.
“Zhou Guanyu!” Charles shouted as he saw the Chinese driver strolling by him and another group of drivers. “What the hell, mate?” The Monegasque was as shocked as everyone else. Not even the drivers knew about his family.
“Everyone meet Daiyu,” Zhou said with a smile as the shy almost 2-year-old lifted up her hand to wave at them. “She’s my daughter.” His words caused the others to emit gasps. “And this lovely woman here is-“
“Y/n L/n!” Lewis exclaimed, immediately recognizing her. Y/n laughed as the 7x world champion greeted her with a hug. “It’s been so long, hasn’t it?”
“Too long. I missed the paddock.” She responded, resting her head against his shoulder for a second.
“You had a secret family this whole time?” Lando loudly exclaimed but got shushed by his teammate.
“Mate, since when?” Max asks, feeling utterly confused. “And how did Lewis know?”
“He introduced us actually,” Y/n spoke up with a chuckle, and just like her daughter, she shyly waved at the dazed drivers. “Nice to meet you all. I’m actually a fashion designer and helped multiple big designer companies. I also helped plan out a lot of Lewis’ outfits. He introduced me to Zhou in 2019. Said we’d make a great pair.”
“And I was right!” Lewis said in a prideful tone. He then gestures to Daiyu who seemed distracted by Max’s hair. “They had an equally fashionable baby!”
Y/n laughed as she nudged her boyfriend with her elbow. “Helps when her mama is a fashion designer and her dad likes fashion.”
“I can’t believe we didn’t know anything!” Charles exclaimed, still in disbelief about the whole situation. The Ferrari driver seemed more grumpy about being left in the dark but it immediately went away as Daiyu’s focus moved to him. “She is quite adorable though. Wow, she looks just like you.”
Zhou sheepishly smiled and shrugged. “Wanted my privacy I guess. Figured it was time for the world to know the whole reason why I drive.”
“I can already imagine the headlines being about your matching outfits,” Yuki chuckled and glanced over their beige and white outfits. “Zhou Guanyu and Y/n L/n, a family of fashion icons!”
Y/n turns to Zhou with a smile on her lips, her hands fixing Daiyu’s bangs. “Guess we are a family of fashion icons, aren’t we?”
“We’ve been fashion icons. At least I don’t wear my team shirt everywhere I go.”
“Hey! It’s comfortable!”

Survivability Bias Pt 4
Masterpost Ao3
“Cassiopeia,” Danny murmurs, his eyes never leaving the glimmering void above him. “Though epsilon looks dimmer than it usually is. I wonder if it still has a ring...” Around him, the world is shadowed, the distant lights of cities visible on the horizon but not bright enough to truly disrupt his view of the night sky. It had been a bit nerve-wracking leaving the town, but he’d been making an effort to lay low for the last week, and had seen nothing to indicate anyone was coming to search for him. The idea of visiting the firefighters still makes his skin itch, but a little trip to stargaze had started seeming like a reasonable risk to take, and with the calm expanse of void above him, Danny can feel something deep inside of him settle. The buzz of fear that’s been around since before he even got here evaporates, as he counts the stars and constellations. They’re not all the same, Cygnus seems to be mostly missing, and a few of the individual stars Danny remembers seem to be gone, but for the most part, it’s the same. Certainly more familiar than anything else has been so far. The technology here is all far more advanced than anything Danny’s seen before, which is ironic considering the portal.
It’s funny, really that he can be this far away from home (a literally incalculable distance), and the stars are still generally the same. Even the ones that are new are still stars; still the same burning masses fueled by fusion and gravity, and feeding the universe at large with new material. They're still millions of light-years away, and yet they’ve been there for so long, streaming their light into a void, where it can eventually reach this very spot where Danny’s currently standing. All his problems seem so small in the face of the great expanse of space.
“Amazing!” Danny exclaims, letting himself just laugh with delight. Maybe he’s alone here, but has he ever felt this free before? Nobody to drag him away, or force him into fights, or yell at him about the chores he hasn’t done yet. Hell, if he really wanted to, he just take off, go hang out in space, maybe fly until he finds one of those alien planets that he’d seen mentioned on Wikipedia. Sure, it would probably take a stupid amount of time to get there, but he could , if he wanted.
Behind him, there’s a rush of air, and the sound of a person taking a breath, and Danny tears his gaze away from the stars, flipping himself into a fighting stance as he runs through the list of heroes he’d read about, trying to remember which of them could fly. As he turns, his eyes lock on to another boy, though, that looks to be close to Danny’s own age.
“Woah, dude.” The boy says, holding his hands up and floating a few feet backwards. “I’m not here to fight?”
“Then why are you here?” Danny asks. He is just a kid, so like, maybe , it’s safe, but also the symbol on the kids chest is the same one Superman was wearing, so he could just be a recruit or something.
“I dunno, man, I just heard you talking and got curious? Not exactly many people around that can just hang out in the sky, you know. I can leave if you want.” The other  boy’s expression seems sincere. Mostly he looks startled and a bit uncertain, and deeply unlike the weird, heroic, confident posture that Superman seemed to have in every picture. This guy looks like he’s trying to look confident, sure, but not like he actually is .
“You’re not Superman, but you’re wearing his logo.” Danny says. Dropping his stance, but not letting himself fully relax. Just because it’s not a fight, doesn’t mean he’s safe, after all.
“Yeah, uh, I’m Superboy.”
“Superboy,” Danny echoes. “I read something about sidekicks? Is that-” Danny cuts himself off when the other boy winces.
“No, I’m not his sidekick. More like he’s helping to train me. We’ve got the same powers, so... Yeah.”
“Huh. Training sounds... Nice? What’s that like?” Honestly, training sounds downright miraculous. Danny hasn’t been able to stop thinking about the destruction caused by the train crash, and how everyone in Amity had always complained about the damage caused by ghost fights. He hasn’t forgotten how much he’d gotten himself hurt in those early days either, not that anyone else had ever noticed that bit.
“Yeah, I guess it’s nice. I take it you don’t have a mentor, then?”
“I’m not a hero.”
“No? I thought- I mean, you look a lot like the description of the guy who helped with the train crash over in Concord.” Superboy frowns, glancing off in the direction of Danny’s hometown.
“I mean, yeah that was me but I’m not. I don’t wanna fight anyone.”
“Oh, yeah that’s totally fair.” Superboy immediately responds with a laugh. “Honestly most of what we do isn’t actually fighting people, so y’know. You don’t have to be a fighter to be a hero.”
“Oh.” That kinda makes sense. After all, Danny had done a lot of fighting back home, and nobody had called him a hero there.
“Yeah, it’s like. There’s a lot of stuff about emergency response and civilian rescue and stuff. Hell, from what I understand half of what the Bats do is just, like detective work. That’s a lot of what my training’s for, actually. I’m pretty good at destroying stuff, I guess, but Supes says I need better control, before I can be trusted to handle relief stuff, because I might accidentally hurt people with my strength or something.”
“That’s. Cool, I guess?” Danny risks a glance up at the stars. No attack comes with Danny’s split attention, though after a moment, Superboy slowly floats over to his side.
“What are you looking at?”
“The stars.”
“Just, like, in general?” Superboy asks. He sounds dubious, and Danny can feel him glancing between him and the sky every couple seconds.
“What, have you never gone stargazing before?”
Superboy doesn’t say anything for a minute, and Danny glances over. The false confidence has completely evaporated from the other boy’s expression, and instead he just looks unsure.
“I’ve never really had the opportunity before.” Superboy finally murmurs, quieter than any of their conversation so far.
“Well, I guess you’re in luck!” Danny says, offering his new companion a smile. “Because I’m something of an expert in it!” And Danny begins to point to the different constellations, and tell Superboy as much as he can about all the stars and planets above them.
“You really are an expert, huh?” Superboy eventually says, in the middle of Danny’s tangent about why Pluto isn’t considered a planet anymore. That had been one of his most interesting discoveries in his Wikipedia explorations. He’d been kind of surprised at first when it hadn’t shown up on the list of planets, but he’d specifically searched for it, he’d learned about it’s reclassification, along with all the reasoning behind it. He’d been a little sad at first, but the realization that it came alongside the implication about a whole number of other bodies orbiting their sun had been exciting in it’s own way.
“Yeah,” Danny responds with a laugh. “I, uh, really like space. I actually wanted to be an astronaut as a kid.”
“But you don’t want to be one now?”
“I mean,” Danny hums. “It’d be nice, but I don’t think it’s really a plausible goal anymore. It- the way I got my powers came with some... complications. And anyway I kind of don’t legally exist anymore, so it’s. I can’t even go to space camp, let alone go to actual space.”
“Is that, uh, why you don’t have a normal heart beat? I didn’t wanna ask and be rude, but like, you sound kinda like a really large bee.”
“Yeah, that’s, um. I mean I’ve never been called a bee before, but yeah.”
“Wild. But like, if it’s meta stuff, then aren’t they legally not allowed to discriminate against you for it? They’re not just gonna be like ‘oh you don’t have a heartbeat guess you can’t go to space.’”
“I mean, there was, like, a meta scholarship on the website, but...”
“You’re worried about revealing your identity.”
“Yeah, pretty much.”
“Well, that’s fixable. I mean, I didn’t have an identity to even reveal until this year, so the Justice League can definitely-”
“I don’t want them to know about me,” Danny interrupts.
“Oh.” Superboy says. “Well, what about just, like one person? Because Robin could definitely make you a whole new identity all by himself, and I know he has no qualms about keeping shit secret from everyone else.”
“Robin.” Danny thinks he remembers that name being referenced in relation to Batman. Something about a boy wonder. “Is he our age?”
“Yeah.” Superboy looks excited. “I could introduce you sometime if you want?”
“I dunno.” Even one Justice League associate knowing about him is concerning, and if Superboy knows about the thing with the train, then probably the adult members do too.
“Well, you don’t have to decide now! I have super hearing so if you call my name I’m almost guaranteed to hear it!”
“You can just hear me anytime?” Danny asks.
“Oh, uh. I mean technically yes? But generally it’s like effort to just tune into one person from a distance. But I listen for anybody calling for me, in case they need help or whatever, so I’m always kind of listening for that.”
“I’’ll keep that in mind, I guess.”
“Right. Uh, do you wanna tell me more about the planets?”

goodbye isn’t for forever
(al haitham x reader, zhongli x reader (separate)
༻ part 2 to take it back༺
Tumblr media
al haitham ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚
It's been two weeks since you’ve left.
The once lively apartment Al Haitham had taken for granted was no more, it was far too quiet for the scholar.
The silence was far too loud. He couldn’t concentrate on his work.
The same work that had led him to push you away.
He’s seen you around of course, he checks up on you and makes sure you’re doing well through mutual friends or passing by shops/places you’d both go together.
He hasn’t slept properly since you’ve left, he doesn’t remember the last time he was alone in bed without you next to him.
He thinks back to the times you’d wake up at night and get him from his study, dragging him to bed because he has to be up at the crack of dawn because you wanted him to sleep, because you cared. Now he’s stays wide awake, not worrying about work or other matters for once, instead he was worried about you.
No one has brought it up to him though, they couldn't.
He thought he was hiding it well, keeping it masked under his unrelenting face but the emotions he felt were being shown through his eyes.
During Al Haithams meeting with Cyno he was stammering, taking one too many pauses because he couldn't concentrate on anything. Cyno merely eyes the two wedding bands linked around a silver chain sitting on top of the scholar's chest but says nothing of it, well that is because he already knows.
“Have you tried talking things out? He looks like shit.” Cyno sits next to you, handing you a bottle of water sighing when he sees the corners of your lips tug down at the mention of Al Haitham.
“I can’t, after what he’s done. What makes you think that he wants me in his life anyways? Look, he was the one who threw his wedding band at me. I didn’t do it, he did.” You lay your head on the table huffing as Cyno sighs again.
He doesn’t like seeing you this way. He’s not the most fond of Al Haitham but seeing him down, with an expression other than a punchable face, it actually makes Cyno feel bad for him. You both being this torn was more on you guys than you expected.
“You miss him, you miss him more than you're letting on. From what I can see he misses you too.” Cyno leans back on his seat, you slightly turn your forehead on the table to glance at him, seeing that knowing look he always wears when he knows he’s right.
“Y/n, for as long as I’ve known Al Haitham I’ve never heard him stumble on his words or look worse than now. You might not accept that because yeah you’re right it is his fault. Everything he’s said and done to you isn’t excusable by a long shot but if he really truly meant it, he wouldn't be beating himself over it this bad.” Cyno explains, putting his hand on top of your head and ruffling your hair making you grumble and turn away.
“I’m scared, we’ve been together for so long, married for just as long and for him to do that I- I can’t just let it go so easily you know? He’s probably held it in for so long and he finally spoke the truth, what if I’ve been a hindrance this whole-“
“Stop.” Cyno clicks his tongue, making his hand into a fist and softly bonking your head.
“You always do that. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Listen, you said it right now didn’t you hear? You’ve been together and married for so long, don't you think he would’ve told you beforehand? If anything you made him more tolerable, he seemed content and happy with you. But right now he seems lost.” Cyno removes his hand from your head and crosses his arms.
“But I did something just as bad Cyno I took mines off too.” You turn your head to face Cyno again, feeling your voice crack just remembering how Al Haitham’s face looked completely horrified when you did that.
“Go home and you’ll see. Go home to him y/n he’ll have it waiting for you I can guarantee.” Cyno smiles at you knowing look in his eyes, he knows Al haitham wants you home just as bad, he’s keeping your ring on him for when you do come back.
Your chest feels heavy, your hands are sweaty as you stare at the familiar wooden door to your shared house with Al Haitham.
It’s only been two weeks, it feels like forever since you've walked out. You didn't even bother getting your things.
You raise your hand and hold it up, contemplating as to whether or not this was a good idea. But you feel your knuckles tap against the wooden door a few times and freeze, holding still to hear any movement from within.
Nothing.
No footsteps, no moving, no talking.
You do it again only to get the same empty response.
You feel your stomach drop.
Is he ignoring me? Did I really mess it up? Why did I leave like that? You feel your eyes burn as you continue to state at the door, mind thinking the worst.
‘Y-Y/n?” Al Haitham whispers from behind you.
He blinks a few times, making sure he's not hallucinating. There's been a few incidents where he thought you came back home a few days ago and it wasn't you, he didn't want to get his hopes up.
You blink at the door and hold your breath, slowly turning your head to look back at a distraught looking Al Haitham.
You open your mouth to say sorry, to apologize for leaving him when you should have just talked things out but nothing comes out, instead a small whimper escapes as your vision gets more blurry. His eyes, the look in his eyes made your throat swell. When you first met him it was so hard to read him, to tell his emotions but the look in his eyes right now says everything.
This tears Al Haitham from the inside out, his long legs walk up the small step to your house and he opens his arms as he nears you immediately wrapping them around you and pulling you in close, his eyes blown wide.
“It's you- you're here I didnt think you were- I thought you weren't coming back.” He exhales a shaky breath as he brings you closer, one hand cradling your head and other pulling you up from your torso.
“I'm sorry, I'm so sorry for what I've said to you. It's inexcusable to say it's because of my work when you were just trying to help, you always do and I need that, I need you here to keep me grounded to keep me sane, you're anything but a hindrance, you help me in ways I never thought anyone could. Please stay. Don't leave me again.” he pulls back, hands moving to hold your face as he rests his forehead on yours.
“I will marry you over and over again if I have to prove myself.” one of his hands moves from your cheek, grabbing your hand in his and placing it on his chest where the necklace with the rings are.
“Haitham I'm sorry I left you alone I should've just listened.” you grab his hand that was holding your cheek, closing your eyes at the warmth you've missed so much feeling the tears you were holding slide down your face. Al Haitham only shakes his head
“Don't apologize to me. No one should have to hear that. Be treated that way, especially you.” he feels his hands shake slightly, with you in his hold. He feels like it's fake, like it's another one of the dreams he's been having since you've left him like he's going to wake up and you're still going to be gone.
“Please don't leave me, I need you home to keep me grounded. I missed you more than you can imagine.” He hugs you again, pulling your head into his chest and closing his eyes.
Throughout all the time you've been with him you've never seen him so on edge, look so scared. Let alone be this affectionate, you can feel it in the way he holds you , the way he speaks, he truly feels bad for what he said and done. Though you still feel torn, hurt from his actions you know you can't leave him again as you've missed him just as much.
As he holds you close, breathes in your comforting scent that he's come to love so much he vows to not take your caring for granted, that he needs you here more than anything. That he isn't himself without you.
zhongli⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚
Zhongli left, he’s gone.
You’re more than sure he’s moved on, found someone better who manages to actually care for their own well being and who doesn’t stress him out too much the way you did.
It’s what he deserves, anyways all you were doing was weighing him down, putting him under constant stress and worry to the point he couldn’t take it anymore.
It’s you, you’re the one who pushed him away the only good thing you had going on is now never coming back
Though he's been gone, Zhongli kept his word, he’s kept an eye on you since the day he left you.
A whole year had flown by agonizingly slow. It was driving him crazy as more time passed he grew worried you didn’t want him back.
During the duration of the year he’s noticed how you care more about your well being more. You took a break from adventuring and weren't as reckless. You started to work at your fathers local bakery to get back on your feet as you recovering from your injuries, Zhongli was relieved.
Though you seemed fine on the outside you only grew to despise yourself more than you ever had before since he’s left. You knew you didn’t deserve him and having him leave just proved your hurt heart more to that fact.
Zhongli kept his word, still watching over you from far away places, making sure to keep out of your line of view but more than anything he wanted to go back to you, wanted to go back home with you where you both belong.
The year with him gone was a process, one that took your mind into a very dark place.
You were hurt for so long, then you grew angry only for it all to ball up into self hatred.
During your time away from him you’ve reflected, taken care of yourself physically but mentally you were drained, it was constant nagging going on. Zhongli would be the one to quell those thoughts but you only had yourself, it was getting harder as days went on.
“I can’t stand seeing you beaten and bruised yet you are all the time.”
“You’re too much for me to handle.” Zhongli sighs, finally having enough, leaving his wedding band behind and walking out the door, never turning back once.
You shoot up from bed, looking around the room as you try to regulate your breathing, seeing the sun peeking in through your curtains.
Your hand reaches over to the ever so cold side of your bed and you're thrown back to reality. You mind immediately fogging with thoughts you don't want to hear.
You were in a constant brain fog, always lost in your own thoughts.
To the point it was was starting to become a problem, you weren't aware of lots of things most of the time. Not paying attention to certain things that could easily turn dangerous.
You got ready for work as usual, made your way down to the bakery, your mind racing a thousand thoughts per second.
“Hey y/n right?” A regular that you see buying bread at your fathers bakery stops you just blocks away from the bakery.
You turn around and he walks closer to you, greeting you with a smile.
“Good Morning.” you force your lips to turn upwards.
“Your father told me to tell you to pick up some things from my house for ingredients before you go in, it's just down the street.” he points down the road to a small house by the mountain.
“Alright, I'll go grab it right now. Is it a lot of supplies?” you ask, walking down the path thinking nothing of the situation.
“Not much but I think you’ll need an extra hand if anything.” The says, following a few feet behind you, looking around the surrounding area.
Zhongli was on his usual morning stroll, passing by your fathers bakery to make sure you get to work safe when he sees a random man stop you.
He stops walking when he sees you walk the complete opposite way from the bakery, following the man down the road. He feels a familiar feeling rising in his chest once again, your putting yourself in situations you don't see are clear signs of danger.
“Yeah, I'll help you bring them back up, it's just a few bags of flour and sugar right?” you ask, the man only hums in response, walking slowly behind you. You don't think about it, instead you continue your regular pace, already dreading the day ahead of you. you know you won't be able to concentrate much already feeling drained from getting up from bed alone.
Though it was morning, the end of the street was oddly quiet for this busy part of town.
Every stall around here is usually set up by now.
You near the small house and walk up the porch, turning and waiting for the guy behind you to open it though you notice his whole demeanor change. He was much closer now looking around him before looking back at you, reaching in his pocket to grab his keys.
He walks past you and unlocks the door holding it open, mentioning for you to walk in first, so you do, hearing the door behind you close and the sound of clicking, like he was locking it behind him.
“Why're you-”
“I brought them, our deal is done.” the man clears his throat, looking directly behind you.
You freeze, looking at the man with wide eyes when you realize what he said. Feeling the hairs on the back of your neck stand as you slowly turn around seeing a group of treasure hoarders standing directly behind you.
You start to back away, reaching into your pocket and getting the small dagger you carry but feeling someone grab your arm before you can pull it out.
“No no no, don't play dirty now we just want to talk. Your father makes a good amount of money in this town, he'll surely pay a good ransom to get his precious kid back now, won't he?” a treasure hoarder laughs, squeezing your wrist making the dagger drop from your grasp.
“My father pays for my brother's medical bills. Please don't make him pay for something he can’t afford. I have money, you can take all mine and let me go. I won't say a thing.” you look at the treasure hoarder standing in the middle of the room and hear his laughter boom through the small house.
“You’re kidding me right?” his hand brings up the ax he was holding and takes a step towards you.
You don't want this, to make someone else suffer because of you. Not your own family after they are already dealing with so much.
Zhongli waited a few minutes by the house you entered and saw no sign of you coming back out, he didn't want to interfere. He has no right. He's been so scared to go back to you, he regrets leaving. He knows he shouldn't have done it that way, he should've stayed, helped you another way. He doesn't think you'd want him back after so long, he has no right to be checking on you. You've probably well moved on.
But he can't help but worry, still check on you because he still loves and cares for you, just like he said he would the day he married you. But he left you, walked out the door, left his ring but worst of all left you all alone.
He feels something off though. From the looks of it the man you were talking to wasn't someone you knew personally, he could tell from our body language, the way you distanced yourself from him. If it was a friend of yours or someone you were close you’d look more relaxed and wouldn't be so tense or distance yourself so far from them when talking.
They're taking too long. Are they ok? Zhongli thinks, eyeing the small house. Contemplating as to whether or not he should go and check.
“Listen, your father gives us the money for you and nothing else got it.” the treasure hoarder leans down to your height and you narrow your eyes at him.
“My father won't give you a penny understand? Do your worst.” You dare the man in front of you seeing his smile drop.
You stay still, seeing a small open window to the right of you from your peripherals. The dagger you dropped right next to your foot.
“You testing me kid?” the treasure hoarder steps even closer making you shrink into yourself.
You quickly duck down, sweeping your leg under the mas feet and grabbing the dagger next to you hearing a thud, you don't even turn around as you hear multiple footsteps closing in as you run to the window, your arms and torso getting out before you feel a pair of hands grab your leg.
You feel your body get pulled back in instantly, your body hitting the ground with a loud thud.
“Donp tugh mi (don’t touch me)!” you try to scream but a hand muffles you before you do.
The loud ruckus alerts Zhongli and he doesn't even take a second to think. He's outside the door in an instant before his brain can register what he's doing.
A soft knock at the door stops everyone making the guy on top of you press his hand harder against your mouth.
“Don't think about it.” he looks down at you, voice dripping with malice.
Another knock at the door and the man on top of you signal for his subordinates to stay quiet.
Zhongli was giving them a chance to prove themselves but the second time he knocked and no one answered he had enough.
It grew completely silent, the sound of footsteps walking away was heard before the door and its hinges flew into the house.
A familiar silhouette stood in the doorway and you couldn't blink, you had to be hallucinating now.
Why is Zhongli here? How did he know I was here? Your mind halts seeing his eyes glow gold.
The man on top of you was thrown off in a second as a flash of gold passed by you, the other men being knocked to the ground seconds after as everything slowed down your eyes following the gold flash going across the room.
Everything goes quiet once again. The treasure hoarders in there were now all on the floor knocked unconscious as Zhongli stood in the middle of the room, chest heaving up and down as he glares at the foolish mortals who dared to try and hurt you.
You slowly sit up and back away, not really knowing what to say to him because why? Of all time why is he here? How'd he know you were here?
He hears the floor behind him creak and turns, golden eyes narrowing at you until he comes to realize it's you, you're ok.
When he broke the door down and saw the man holding you down his mind went into autopilot, he hasn't acted out on emotion in so long, it took over him before he could control it.
“Why're you here?” you ask, looking away from him grabbing the dagger and putting it back into your pocket.
He steps forward and you step back, the anger you've been holding back is starting to surface.
“Why did you follow him? Do you trust this man this much to have him bring you here and-”
“Dont, I don't need another lecture from you.” you almost laugh. After all this time away this is what he starts with?
“Yeah I know, take care of myself, work things out, I remember trust me, after all that's the last thing you told me before leaving remember? Right now I don't have time to hear it, I have to go to work.” You don't even bother looking back at him as you walk past to leave.
“I'm sorry.” He stares at you as you stop, seeing you shake your head and look down.
“I shouldn't have left you alone, it wasn't a good way to prove myself, I just wanted you to-”
“Zhongli please don't….” you sigh, feeling the heavy feeling settling in your chest, turning to look back at him, your eyes widening when you see one of the men he knocked out get up behind him.“GET DOWN!”
Everything moved too fast, your legs, the man behind him, but Zhongli didn't move fast enough.
Old habits die hard. You feel tired from everything, thinking too much, getting up today.
Zhongli feels the weight of your body go limp as you fall forward an arrow sticking out of your back, the man he had knocked out earlier standing directly behind, wide eyes looking up at Zhongli as he realizes who exactly it was.
“I didn't mean to get them. I wasn't going to hurt them. I swear, please don't hurt me.” the man coweres as his legs give out under him. Zhongli only stares down at you in his arms, seeing your eyes fighting to stay open.
“You're going to leave again aren't you?” your voice cracks and Zhongli feels his breath hitch, the pain in his heart worsening, you think he'd leave you alone like this?
“I'm not leaving anytime soon my love, just give me a second and i'll take you to Dr Baizhu right now, whatever you do dont turn around and keep your eyes open for me.” He picks you up, carrying you to the corner of the house facing you away from the man behind you, leaning down and giving your head a kiss before standing back up.
It all feels like a dream, this can't be real, you feel far too sleepy for it to be.
Zhongli summons his polarm and stands back up, slowly walking to the man who hurt you.
You couldn't do what he wanted again, you tried but your eyes keep closing from sheer exhaustion, the last thing you heard before completely blacking out was screaming coming from behind you, the same flash of gold blinding you once again before you felt your own body go limp, succumbing into the darkness.

Your probably busy with your own life but is it alright if I could request reader being the younger sibling of Sunday and Robin
Do you know the scene where Robin gets 'killed'? what if instead of Robin it was the reader? how would Sunday and Robin react to the news of their younger sibling getting 'killed'?
Thank you for your time and have a great day/noon/night!!
SYNOPSIS. . . With the Charmony Festival nearing by the day, the revered Halovian siblings start getting anxious when their kin hasn’t been heard of for days.
CHARACTERS FEATURED. . . sunday and robin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CW: hurt/no comfort (I tried), gn and sibling! reader, they’re your biological older siblings, potential spoilers, platonic, like one mention of Gopher Wood, reader is aged 16 and a Nameless
— A/N’s note: HIIII EVERYONE. wow i actually posted something since who knows how long LMAO. so sorry for lack of updates, motivation has been very low and dry lately. anyways NEW FORMAT everyone
Tumblr media
The air in Dewlight Pavilion was thick with worry and tension as the Charmony Festival’s date approached. The legendary siblings, Sunday and Robin, were together in the study room, their faces betraying their concern.
Their precious youngest sibling—basically, you—had promised yesterday to pay a visit in Moment of Morning Dew since you haven’t seen them for so long, considering your occupation as a Nameless.
Normally, Sunday, your protective older brother, would let your delays slide—if only it wasn’t for the fact that you were three hours late.
As for Robin, she nervously combed her fingers through her hair while adjusting her dainty neck pieces. “Brother, perhaps you should sit down for awhile? You’ve been pacing back and forth for awhile. Maybe they’re just visiting some shop or strolling—”
“Robin, it’s been three long hours,” he abruptly stated. “I’m pretty sure they’re not strolling around at some random park in the Dreamscape. They’re always punctual, you know that!” The man sighed, eventually sitting down beside his younger sister.
Poor Sunday, he was visibly anxious and worried. He plucked at several loose hair strands and feathers from the wings by his ears. Ever the neat perfectionist, it was ironic to see him in such a distressed state. But Robin couldn’t blame him.
It had been a pretty long time after all…
Just when she was about to excuse herself to use to the restroom, a Bloodhound guard came bursting through the grand wooden doors, a manilla folder in his sweaty hand.
“Ah, Mr. Sunday..! Oh, and hello, Miss Robin,” he panted. “My deepest apologies for interrupting whatever was happening, but I have urgent news to report.”
Sunday rapidly approached the man. “What happened? Hold on, is this about..?”
“Yes,” the Bloodhound confirmed. “Another person has fallen victim to ‘Death.’ We’ve gathered enough information, but I’m afraid you’ll be displeased who said person was.”
There was a moment of silence as Sunday split the folder open, revealing three sheets of paper. His hand trembled ever so slightly as he picked up a sheet, already thinking the worst.
Please, don’t let it be who I think it is.
Robin, who was peering over his shoulder, audibly gasped, stumbling back with a gloved hand at her mouth, muffling the incoming sobs. “No.. No, it can’t be!”
The Bloodhound bowed deeply, his face contorted in distress. “My condolences, Mr. Sunday and Miss Robin, but Y/N.. was killed by the Memory Zone Meme.”
Tumblr media
The siblings stared blankly at the papers spread out on the desk.
•••
Name: Y/N L/N
Family: Gopher Wood, Dreammaster and adoptive father | Sunday, Oak Family Head and older brother | Robin, cosmic superstar and older sister.
Age: 16
Affliation: Nameless
Cause of death: Memory Zone Meme, “Death”—stab wound through the heart.
•••
There were several photographs taken of the scene, and Robin felt overwhelming nausea at the mere sight of it. Her body went rigidly stiff, her chest rose and fell slowly, and the world around her blurred. One hand shielded her lips and the other was put over her heart.
Meanwhile, Sunday’s strong-willed heart shattered. He felt so many things at once: shock, fury, sadness, despair—basically every negative emotion wrote in the dictionary. Yet at the same time, he didn’t know what to feel.
After awhile, the Halovian idol stood up, her legs now jittery from the sudden revelation. She took in a shaky deep breath before exhaling, not daring to break down in front of her brother. “…I’m going to use the restroom.” With that, she slowly walked out of the study, leaving the revered leader alone with his turmoil.
None of them couldn’t think straight, but who could blame them? Their sibling was dead. Their youngest sibling was dead. Their kin was dead. Their determined Nameless. Their sibling was dead.
Sunday, now isolated, suddenly felt hot beneath his clothing. His mind was disturbed, and his blue-gray wings twitched madly. He didn’t know how to act, but in the end, he let out a cry and ripped the papers apart along with the photographs before throwing the folder in a nearby trash can.
Oh, how he felt like diving into it himself. He felt like trash itself now—unwanted, crumbled, and torn apart.
Back with Robin, she ran past several Oak Family servants and dashed into the restroom, madly locking the door to ensure no one would run into her. She fell against the toilet and heaved into it, her nausea reaching its brink.
After the ordeal, she wiped her mouth before staring at herself in the mirror, unable to hold back her sadness anymore. Transparent tears poured down her flawless face, carving dry rivers in their run. Sorrowful sobs sounded from her throat, her once melodious voice now gone harsh.
Poor you. Poor, poor, poor, you. You didn’t deserve this. You didn’t deserve any of this. You didn’t deserve to have your life crushed like a ladybug.
Just.. why..?

Word Count: 2.4k+ words

Tumblr media
“Boot, let’s go!” Tim urges. “You can talk to your friends later.”
“Good morning to you, too, Officer Bradford,” Lucy replies. “How’d you-“
“Shop.”
“I just-“
“Shop.”
Lucy sighs before walking away from Tim. She’s used to his grumpiness by now, but she can tell by his attitude that there will be a few Tim Tests today. The war bags are already in the trunk, so Lucy isn’t sure what the rush is.
✯✯✯✯✯
“It’s been a while,” Wade says as he shakes your hand.
“Too long,” you reply with a smile. “When my captain mentioned this, I knew I had to take the assignment.”
“So, what does Metro want with a station review? Isn’t that usually IA’s thing?”
“Typically, yes. I think my role here is best described as a scout. Cap wants some new blood and we’ve got a couple of Metro openings. We need the best, and for some reason, I get to choose them.”
“You’ve already chosen one, I’m sure.”
Wade smiles as you furrow your brows. He shakes his head and reaches for something on his desk.
“Who?” you ask.
“If you don’t know, I’m not telling you.”
Someone knocks on the door, and you turn around as Smitty steps inside.
“I thought you quit,” he says when he sees you.
“I think I know who I won’t be choosing,” you tell Wade.
He tosses you a set of keys and waves. You leave his office and glance around. The station hasn’t changed much since the last time you were there, but you’re sure the people have. As you walk through the bullpen, you see someone you recognize.
“Bradford?” you call.
Tim freezes at the sound of your voice. He hasn’t seen you in years, yet hearing his last name come out of your mouth takes him back to when he was a rookie. Walking several steps ahead of him, Lucy stops and turns at the call of Bradford’s name. She’s expecting to be held up for a minute or two, but when she sees Tim turn slowly toward you, she knows that it’s more than that.
“Hey,” Tim says.
When he sees your smile, he relaxes and steps toward you. You don’t miss his initial reaction, though, and it makes your smile grow.
“I did not think you’d still be here,” you begin. “Maybe I should’ve done a better job.”
Tim nods, and Lucy rushes to his side. She smiles and extends her hand toward you before she speaks.
“Hi, I’m Lucy, uh, Officer Chen. How do you know Officer Bradford?” she asks.
“Nice to meet you,” you reply before telling her your name. “And you are?”
“Oh, I’m Tim’s rookie.”
“You’re a TO?” you ask incredulously as you turn to look at Tim. “Seriously?”
“Lucy,” Tim begins, “this is my TO.”
Lucy’s jaw drops and you chuckle. Wade calls your name, and you look over your shoulder at him. After he beckons you to return to his office, you turn back to Tim.
“I’ll see you around,” you say.
“Why?” he inquires.
“Metro’s recruiting.”
Tim watches you go and doesn’t move until you’re out of his sight. His shoulders are tense, but there’s a small smile on his face that Lucy hasn’t seen before.
“You never mentioned her!” Lucy exclaims.
“Because she was my TO, not yours,” Tim argues.
“She doesn’t seem that much older than you.”
“I’m not that much older than you.”
Lucy raises her brows but remains silent this time.
“Our ages don’t matter. Aren’t you supposed to be in the shop?” Tim argues.
“Aren’t you?”
Tim tilts his head to the side, and Lucy decides this isn’t a battle worth fighting. She’ll ask about you later, anyway. After Lucy walks away, Tim glances towards Wade’s office once more. He remembers every moment he spent with you, and the memories are making it hard to focus.
“You drive,” Tim tells Lucy as he enters the garage area.
“Are you serious?”
“Am I ever unserious?”
Lucy nods and takes the keys from him. As she climbs into the driver’s seat, she realizes why he doesn’t want to drive. He can’t, for some reason.
“You had a crush on your TO,” she accuses quietly.
“Do you want me to quiz you on everything in the rook book?” Tim replies. “Because if you keep this up, that’s what you have to look forward to.”
“You don’t have one.”
“No, because I actually know everything in it. Now, you can pick. Be quiet and drive or I start asking questions about cavity search procedures.”
“I will be quiet and drive,” Lucy decides. “For now.”
Tim takes a deep breath as he remembers the rook book you kept with you when he was a boot. Every memory he has of you is good, and now he’s concerned that Lucy is right. Not that he did have a crush on you, he knows he did, but that he still does.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Bradford,” Wade calls over the radio. “I need you and Chen to return to the station.”
“Copy that,” Tim responds.
“What do you think that’s about?” Lucy asks.
“The Metro inspection.”
“I didn’t know about a Metro inspection.”
“I can tell you’re about to burst, so you can ask one question before we get back to the station,” Tim offers.
“Ooh! Wait, just one? How am I supposed to choose? Because I want to know about what kind of TO she was, but I also need to ask if she knows that you liked her.”
“Choose one.”
Lucy taps her fingers on the steering wheel for a moment before smiling. “Did she test you like you test me?”
“Are you asking if she had a version of Tim Tests?”
“Yes.”
Tim nods as he answers, “Yeah. She gave me tests. It’s one of the reasons I started doing Tim Tests. Practical knowledge and experience are important, but she’s the one who taught me that.”
“That’s so cute! You based your teaching style on your teacher crush.”
“Chen,” Tim warns.
“Okay, okay. Then did she quiz you on the rook book, too?”
Lucy knows she is pressing her luck with asking another question. Tim doesn’t answer, and as she nears the station, Lucy expects he’ll make her do pushups later.
“Yeah, she did. Always had a copy of the rook book with her. Sometimes, she’d read it while I drove around and would only talk to me to ask me questions.”
Lucy smiles to herself, now completely convinced that Tim had a crush on you. The way he talks about you and remembers you, though, makes her think those feelings may still be alive. Once the shop is parked at the station, Lucy decides to get to the bottom of Tim’s relationship with you, and if there isn’t one, she needs to make something happen.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Bradford, thanks for coming back so quickly,” Wade says. “Head into my office. Chen, I’ve got an assignment for you.”
“Yes, sir,” Lucy replies.
“There’s a Metro inspection happening today, and I need you to take the Metro officer around, show her everything she needs to see, make introductions, whatever she asks.”
“Yes, sir.”
Lucy tries to hide her smile because she suspects that you are the Metro officer she’s about to spend a bunch of time with. Maybe you’ll be more open than Tim. When you approach her with a smile, Lucy knows that her investigation of your relationships will be more fun than your inspection of the station.
“Officer Chen, sorry to pull you from patrol, but Sergeant Grey said you were one of the best,” you greet.
“No problem,” Lucy says. “And you can call me Lucy if you want.”
“Okay, Lucy, I would love a tour of Mid-Wilshire station. It’s been a long time since I was here, so walk me through like it’s my first time.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Lucy turns and leads you toward the front desk, to start the tour as she would with a visitor.
“Lucy?” you ask. “What’s Tim like as a TO?”
“He’s great. I mean, he’s grumpy and has a ton of Tim Tests, but I like riding with him.”
“Tim Tests,” you murmur under your breath. “Cute.”
Lucy smiles at your reaction before she begins the tour. You don’t mention Tim again for a while, and Lucy thinks that you are too focused on your inspection to think about him. As you near the bullpen at the end of the tour, Tim is exiting Wade’s office.
“You abducted my boot for a personalized tour?” Tim asks you.
“Lucy mentioned Tim Tests,” you say, changing the subject. “Don’t tell me copied my rook book move, too.”
Tim rubs his thumb across his jaw before answering, “I didn’t.”
“He told me that you used to carry a rook book around and would ask him questions,” Lucy interjects. “I’m really glad he didn’t take that idea.”
You look at Tim with a smile as you ask, “That’s all you told her?”
Lucy looks back and forth between you and Tim, but neither of you seems to remember she’s there.
“The rook book wasn’t a rook book,” Tim says after a moment. “It was just a book that she put the cover on. Those days that she didn’t want to talk to me, she’d just read through our shift and ask me random questions to make it look like she was doing her job.”
“Yeah. Because I’m the one who had trouble doing my job,” you reply with a laugh.
Tim shakes his head, and Lucy suddenly feels the urge to interrupt before he says something out of line.
“How’s the inspection going?” he asks instead.
“How’d your meeting go?” you counter. “Because the inspection is just a cover and we both know it.”
“Cover for what?” Lucy asks.
“She’s recruiting for Metro,” Tim explains. “Looking for the best talent in our station to move to a new team.”
“We’ve got three openings,” you remind him. “Just think about it, okay?”
Tim looks toward Lucy, but you give him a knowing nod. Lucy feels lost like a kid listening to her parents talk about something she hasn’t experienced yet.
“Thanks for the tour, Officer Chen,” you say. “Maybe I’ll see you around.”
You say bye to Tim before walking past him. His fingers flex at his side as you pass, close enough to touch. Tim closes his eyes for a moment before turning to Lucy.
“Let’s go. Patrol isn’t over yet,” he says.
“Are you sure you don’t want to grab a book first?” she responds. “I know, shop. I’m going.”
✯✯✯✯✯
After the day of your inspection, Lucy doesn’t hear your name again. Tim returns to his high-stress tests, driving, and random procedural questions. You clearly made an impact on Tim just by being near him, and as Lucy’s rookie exam gets closer, she wonders if Tim pushed you away.
“Can I ask a question?” Lucy asks.
“Depends. Is it about the exam? Because that’s all you should be concerned about,” Tim says.
“No. Well, sort of. Did your TO help you study?”
“Are we talking about my experience as a rookie or about my TO?”
“Your TO,” Lucy answers softly.
“Fine. Ask away.”
“Why hasn’t she been back?”
“She has a job. Metro is busy, so she doesn’t have a lot of time to make personal visits.”
“Did she offer you one of the positions?”
“She did.”
“And you didn’t take it? Why not?”
“Because you’re still a rookie. I have to get you through this.”
“You could’ve handed me off, that happens all the time. Did you say no because of her?”
“I didn’t say no, Chen. I said not yet.”
“Metro positions don’t open every day! You can’t throw away your career to drive me around for a few more months!”
“Lucy!” Tim yells. “Drop it.”
Lucy sits back and presses her lips together to stay quiet. Tim’s cell phone rings, and he glances at it before raising it to his ear.
“Hello?” Tim answers.
Lucy looks over in shock. Tim has never answered a personal call in the time they’ve been riding together. Whoever is on the other end speaks for a moment, and Tim listens intently.
“Got it… Yep, see you then.”
Tim ends the call and drops his phone to continue driving.
“Who was that?” Lucy asks.
Tim looks over but doesn’t answer. He says, “Read your rook book,” and keeps driving.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Officer Bradford,” you call as he and Lucy enter the station.
Tim leaves Lucy and walks to you. He stops beside Wade’s office and waits for you to begin. You told him on the phone to come straight to the station when his shift ended and he’s ready to know why. Nolan and Jackson enter behind Lucy and silence as they watch Tim talk to you.
“Who is that?” Nolan whispers.
“Tim’s TO,” Lucy answers.
“My captain wanted to call you, but I thought it would be better to tell you in person,” you begin. “You passed the Metro test, and your spot is waiting for you.”
Tim smiles, glad he has his back to the rookies. “Thank you.”
“I didn’t do anything I haven’t done before.”
“Which is?”
“See potential in you.”
Tim nods and thanks you again. You look over his shoulder and the rookies look away quickly, but they’re less than stealthy and it is obvious they’re trying to listen in.
“Has Lucy been asking about me?” you ask.
“Nonstop. Don’t look so happy about it, though.”
“What kind of questions?”
“Mostly if I had a crush on you.”
“We both know you did,” you say.
Tim doesn’t argue, and your smile grows.
“I know you told her about my tests and the rookie book, but what else does she know?”
“Nothing.”
“That’s interesting. Because I don’t know any more than that and I’ve known you a whole lot longer.” You glance down at your Metro uniform before adding, “Oh, and my captain also said that Metro officers are allowed to have interpersonal relationships as long as they don’t interfere with work.”
Tim looks up quickly with wide eyes. You stifle a laugh, and he rolls his eyes.
“So… are you ready to admit you had a crush on me?” you ask.
“Something like that.”
You wave at Lucy and step away from Tim. He reaches an arm out to stop you, but you only wink at him before you continue walking.
“Are you going to do something this time?” Wade asks as he exits his office.
“We’ll see,” Tim answers. “Lucy has to pass the rookie exam first.”
“It looks like she just got herself a tutor.”
Tim turns and finds you and Lucy talking excitedly. You smile at him, and Tim feels like a boot again.
“This is gonna be fun,” Wade and Lucy say simultaneously.
Neither you nor Tim hear them, too busy looking at one another.

One thing Eddie had been absolutely sure of: Stevie Nicks was right.
The trip to New York City was carried out solely on a whim. A gut feeling that the brunette rockstar could not quite shake. He had to see you, despite the possible consequences, and Eddie was smart enough to know there would be a lot. He acted like an ass and whether you would admit it or not, he knew he broke your heart.
Ever since his rise to fame, the Corroded Coffin frontman felt this bubble around him. A bubble created by his team, his band, his past, and his own disruptive behaviour — don’t do drugs was a warning he witnessed (and ignored) many times on posters too colourful for the subject matter, plastered on the walls of Hawkins High. Seemingly, the bubble protected Eddie from predators. Leeches that wanted to take advantage of his fame. Unfortunately, the bubble also shielded him from love.
Love.
If the rockstar wasn’t so afraid of the feeling as a result of that bubble, perhaps he would have made different choices in all of his past relationships. Most importantly, perhaps Eddie would have made different choices in the one relationship that’s meant more to him than any other. If he wasn’t so afraid of love, and being in love, perhaps he would’ve fought to be with you a little harder.
And love is definitely how Eddie would describe what he felt towards you. Correction. Feels towards you to this very day. Maybe more, if that was possible considering he hasn’t seen you in months.
So yes, Stevie Nicks was right. The concept of Silver Springs was right.
Seeing you again only affirmed that belief. Talking to you again, witnessing your smile for the first time in months… Well, Eddie never wanted to be apart from you for longer than he already had been. Unfortunately, that wasn’t up to him. Not for as long as your grandmother had her claw all up in your business and stuck her nose where it did not belong.
“So, what happens now?” The rockstar asks, only slightly afraid of the answer.
You hum under your breath, taking a moment to think, gathering your own thoughts. The sun is slowly rising in the distance, so the first response that comes to mind is that you should go home, and Eddie should go back to his hotel, Max’s place, or wherever the hell he’s been staying, before this place starts crawling with people. That would mean saying goodbye for lord knows how long and you were just starting to get comfortable with being around the rockstar again, although, not like that was insanely hard. Whatever. Simply, you didn’t want to say goodbye.
“We could go get breakfast,” you finally say.
Eddie smirks. “As much as like that idea, sweetheart, I didn’t really mean now in the full sense of the word.”
You laugh softly.
“Okay, hotshot.” Turning your head back to look at Eddie, you raise a brow. “What do you think should happen?”
The rockstar smacks his lips together before resting his elbow on one of his knees and bringing his thumb to his mouth. A nervous tick.
“Putting whatever reason I came here for aside, starting over seems like a bad idea since we’ve done that once before and it didn’t really end the way either of us hoped,” he says after a beat of silence, avoiding your gaze.
“Yeah,” you exhale, “Bad idea. Plus you said so yourself, you’re not the relationship type. Getting back together would be redundant.”
“Right,” Eddie agrees quietly, although he really doesn’t want to.
There’s another moment of silence. Nothing but the sound of morning birds chirping melodically and wind gust hitting the water ahead. In the quiet, there is solace. In the quiet, Eddie doesn't have to answer difficult questions or have conversations neither of you really wants to have. A blissful ignorance of what’s really happening here.
He still loves you. You most likely still love him.
It’s all just terrible timing for two people who are — in his mind, at least — made for eachother, but for one reason or the other, can’t be together. Not in this lifetime. Not with people controlling what they can or cannot do. Not with the whole world watching their every move. It hurt. Hurt that a life you both chose was also the life that’s actively destroying something good.
“We could try being friends?” Eddie offers eventually, looking at you then.
You smile. “Friends. I think I like that.”
-
Holly is the only person you’re fully comfortable talking to about all of this. She listens, actively nodding along as you spew your thoughts and feelings out loud, until the rambles become too hard to follow. Holly, ever the best friend that she’s always been, places her perfectly manicured hands on your shoulders and gives your body one shake to get you back on track when the story becomes a little too convoluted. And this one is all over the place.
There’s the run in at Saks, the meeting with Max, the plan, the date with Steve, all that leads to Eddie Munson banging on your front door until you let him inside. There’s the emotionally heightened conversation that doesn’t really amount to much. The dinner with your family that opened things up to questions from your nosh sisters and scrutiny from your Nana. Then there was Coney Island.
You pause.
It’s messy, for sure, and your feelings are all over the place as you recount each and every minor detail, which leads you to why you invited her over in the first place: what the fuck do you do about Eddie Munson?
Holly usually gives you advice. Parts of which you want to hear and take on board, parts of which you both know will be ignored. This time however, as you do your best to explain what’s been on your mind — and heart — since the rockstar arrived in New York, this time Holly doesn’t know what to say.
“I don’t know if I should forgive him.”
“Jeff says he’s been, like, super sullen all summer long. Locked in that house of his, or at the studio, working on shit he won’t let the band see.”
“That’s supposed to make it easier for me to do what, exactly? He’s secretive, that’s for sure. Hiding stuff from his band, from his sister, from me…”
You reach for the packet of smokes that Holly brought with her and light one, hand shaking ever so slightly.
“I got virtually nothing from him that night in my apartment. Slightly more under the Wonder Wheel, but still not enough to understand why he did what he did,” you exhale a puff of smoke, “Yet I can’t help but think that despite everything, especially ignoring the weeks I spent in bed because of him, we’re like meant for each other, you know?”
Holly too lights a cigarette. She also doesn’t answer you.
“That’s kinda pathetic, no?”
“I think until you get the entire truth, it won’t matter whether you get back with him or just be his friend, or whatever, ‘cause you’re not going to be fully happy. Not really,” she explains, avoiding your question because there’s close to nothing worse than admitting to your friend that they’ve lost it completely.
“So I should confront him?”
“Jeff says Eddie doesn’t do well with confrontations.”
You groan. Head falling back on the cushioned sofa.
“Maybe I should just fuck him,” you think out loud, “Get all this frustration out and then just move on with my life.”
Holly laughs. “Just don’t let him finish,” she says, “Karma’s a bitch, and whatnot.”
-
New York City is your favourite place on Earth.
Despite your years of extensive travel to tour your various albums or attend different global award shows, New York, your home, has always been top of the list. Elegant, albeit slightly messy. Organised, although a little rowdy. It’s colourful, but dull. Full of people from every corner of the world, which only added to its pre-existing charm. You didn’t really think it was possible to fall in love with it even more until you’ve started to explore it all over again with none other than Eddie Munson — under a new guise of something called friendship.
The rockstar decided to extend his trip. Currently, there is no return date. Exploring New York became the only thing on his agenda.
The two of you did your best to stay under the radar, away from prying eyes. Although, not like it was necessarily needed as Eddie’s idea of sight seeing involved bar hopping. Old-ish, rather shitty places that have definitely seen better days, but Eddie, he was like a kid in a candy store. With every beer poured and every bowl of peanuts shared, he lit up more and more.
“They remind me of home,” he finally explains, two days into your NYC adventure. “Of Hawkins.”
You smile at him, but don’t say anything.
“What?” Eddie asks when he notices the look, mouth now full after taking another handful of the perhaps hundredth packet of peanuts the two of you have shared over the last few days.
“I don’t know,” you shrug, swirling the gold-ish liquid inside your beer bottle, “I guess it’s just nice that some small part of my home reminds you of your home.”
Eddie returns the fond expression. Friends is good, he thinks at that moment while catching another peanut with his mouth, not ideal, but good.
“There was this bar,” he says, leaning across the table so that he could be a little closer to you, “The Hideout. Our first venue, outside of Gareth’s garage, and the only place in my crappy hometown where I didn’t feel like an outsider.”
“Places like the Hideout, places like this.” Eddie swirls his finger in the air to show he means your current location, “They’ll always have a special place in my heart, I guess. They’re a part of me. Part of Corroded Coffin history.”
He stares at you for a minute. He’d never share this much with a friend, so perhaps this new concept you’ve both found yourselves in is not as good as the rockstar would like to think. “We could try being friends?” — Eddie’s second guessing his suggestion just as fast as he came up with it.
“We should see more of your home,” he finally states, “As much as I love them, I think we’ve seen all the dingy bars New York has to offer, so I’m open to suggestions.”
You bring the beer bottle to your lips and take a slow sip of the now semi-warm liquid, pondering his request.
Where could you take Eddie that would represent your love for New York. The Statue of Liberty seems a little basic, as does Times Square — especially since you’ve both performed there in the past. Rockefeller Centre to see the street performers? The Met, even though both of you will most likely be invited next year to the exhibit. In reality, all of the touristy spots like Central Park, for example, would be a little too crowded for either of you to feel safe and remain unseen.
Then your eyes glisten with an idea.
What’s more homey than a home itself: Cove City Sound Studios.
To any average person, it was just another recording studio found in New York. One of hundreds. To you however, it was heaven on earth.
Located in Glen Cove, New York, Cove City Sound Studios had been home to many artists before you came along. A lot of albums were recorded here. A lot of number one hits — the list of which you were lucky to join more than once.
You always thought the ambiance of this place fueled your creativity. Often said the reason behind your resounding success was because you got the opportunity to record here. Of course Holly, Val, and especially your Nana, corrected you every time those words had left your lips. “You’re the reason behind your success,” your Nana would affirm, “Not some recording studio.”.
But you knew. Felt it deep within your bones. Cove City Sound Studios was magic.
“Damn,” Eddie mutters under his breath, fingers gently running across the various buttons as his doe-eyes dart across the posters on the wall — one of which features your 1985 album cover (a record once hidden under Eddie’s bed back in Hawkins).
“Here I thought the place we recorded Honesty in was impressive,” he admits, “This though, this is another level.”
A smile circles your lips.
“Welcome to my home, Eddie Munson.”
The rockstar dips his head, sort of in a way of a little bow, and smiles so wide it makes your insides flutter. Friends, friends, friends. You repeat inside your mind, same thing Eddie is doing, although neither of you are aware. Friends hiding their true feelings.
“I’m honoured, sweetheart.” Eddie adds, placing a ring-clad hand on his heart.
“As you should be,” you tease and walk past him, pushing open a door into the vocal booth.
The Corroded Coffin frontman follows you with zero to no hesitation. He watches as you slowly circle the small room before standing in front of a microphone, adjusting it to your height.
“I recorded every single one of my songs here apart from Honesty,” you reveal without looking at him. Focusing instead on tightening the metal rod in place. “Hundreds of records that will probably never see the light of day because my label doesn’t think they are good enough.”
Eddie snorts. “As if you could make something that wasn’t deemed good. We wrote shit together, remember? I know how good you are.”
Your lips twist into a timid smile and glance up at him from your lashes. “I appreciate that Eds, but unfortunately the industry doesn’t work that way and you, of all people, should understand.”
“Well, yeah, but doesn’t your grandmother have some sort of special power to get you whatever the fuck you want.”
It’s your turn to snort. “She may be resourceful, but she’s got no control over my management team. Even if she likes to think she does, the only real ability my Nana possesses is tell me what to wear and how to act.”
Eddie nods, taking note of this information. Knowledge he can use to free himself from deceit, blackmail.
Valuable insight into the evil woman that ruined his life since, as you’ve now so beautifully explained, she’s not nearly as formidable as she presented herself to be. A light at the end of the tunnel.
“Perhaps that’s why I can’t bring myself to listen to it,” you say, breaking Eddie away from his thoughts.
“What?”
“Perhaps that’s why I can’t bring myself to listen to Honesty. Because I didn’t record it here.” Nothing to do with the fact that it’s soiled by the memory of the last morning we saw each other, you think, clearly lying to yourself, and him.
Eddie swallows his breath. A twinge of guilt rushes through him. Actually, more than a twinge. A gush, like a waterfall out of control. He’s sure of it now. The two of you could never be just friends. Not until you knew the whole truth about why he did what he did and now that he knew your grandmother had a weakness in her armour, perhaps offering you the truth is something he could do sooner rather than later.
“Then maybe we should change that,” Eddie offers and proceeds to quickly shuffle out of the room, leaving you alone for a second.
You watch through the glass separating the two spaces as he scans the buttons, hands on his hips, tip of his tongue out to indicate he’s thinking. He looks cute and you fail to conceal a smile, so you opt to hang your head and stare at your shoes because you can’t afford to think he’s any sort of desirable. Just friends.
After taking a moment to familiarise himself with a new system, Eddie finds what he’s looking for and switches it on, before hurrying back to stand next to you.
“Ready?”
“Ready,” you affirm while putting a pair of headphones on.
For the next four minutes and twenty-two seconds, you get lost in the chocolate of Eddie’s eyes as you once again sing the song he wrote about you.
“Honestly, you got me fallin’ to my knees
It’s like ecstasy, this feelin’ inside of me
Let’s call it honesty”
Cove City Sound Studios creates magic. You’ve always believed it and now it’s only been affirmed because the way your voice melts with his — no band, no distractions — is nothing short of perfection.
“You’re a devil in disguise
No, that’s what I want you to be
‘Cause in reality, hon’, you’re a hypnotic dream
An angel for sure
To a non-believer like me
Oh honesty, what have you done to me, honestly”
That’s why the song was a hit in the first place. Now you understand why your management team pushed you to do this collaboration in the first place. Magic. And as Eddie draws the last syllable without breaking eye contact, you’re transported back to the night you met. The night that inspired this song.
The night that started all of this.
His mind wanders to the same moment, same place, same spot. Friendship is a word that no longer makes sense, but the rockstar doesn’t want to ruin anything (again), so he drops the headphones and exits the booth without saying anything.
You follow him with your gaze. A feeling of longing spreads through you faster than you know what to do with it. It’s unfortunately accompanied by fear because you’re not stupid, far from it. Eddie’s hurt you twice before. Going back in only to get burned a third time would be a grave mistake and you know better than to go down that road again. ‘Cause you do know better, right?
Then this morning’s conversation with Holly enters your mind. Your best friend was right. You could never be happy around him if you didn’t know the truth.
“Eddie, can I ask you something?”
“Sure.”
“Do you think if you didn’t end things when you did, we’d still be together? Or do you think we were doomed regardless?”
He takes a moment to answer. Avoiding looking up through the glass to meet your curious gaze, anxious for an answer.
“I already told you.” His deep voice eventually booms through the speakers. “I’m not the relationship type.”
“Bullshit,” you’re quick to state. It comes out harsher than intended.
“Sweetheart—” He’s shaking his head, still without looking at you.
“No, don’t you fucking dare,” you interrupt, suddenly feeling deflated by this whole situation, defeated in the fight against your feelings towards him. “Like I said before, you don’t get to sweetheart me and give me some bullshit vague answer.”
Eddie’s eyes are now closed. He’s hoping if he shows how he wants no part of this conversation — not right now, not before he gets to speak to your management and then offers you up the truth — that you will let it go. Like you did that night in Coney Island and those last few days too. You seemingly let it go and everything was okay. Fucking friends.
“I gave in too quickly. Into your presence. I missed you so much that when you showed up at my door, it didn’t matter how angry or heartbroken I was. All that mattered was seeing you again and being around you again. But I should’ve stood my ground.”
You’re now standing right in front of the glass window. Arms hanging by your side, nails digging into your palms to pump the adrenaline that’s fueling this fight.
“No matter how many times you tell me that you’re not the relationship type, I won’t believe you. I refuse to believe you because that guy I met in an empty kitchen of a Hidden Hills mansion was looking for something more than a random hook up. He may not have said it, but he proved it with his actions,” you continue your reasonings, “He craved something meaningful. I saw it in the way he smiled every time his eyes met mine, and sensed it in the way he held me close.”
Then you exhale.
“That guy, although hiding behind a mask of an arrogant  dickhead, he wanted to be loved and Jesus Christ did I—”
Eddie’s gaze snaps to you then, widening.
“But if I got it all wrong,” you continue after a few seconds, “If I misunderstood that guy and what he really wanted, then all I need is for him to be straight with me,” you conclude, “No bullshit excuses, Eddie. If you simply didn’t like me, if you simply didn’t care, just say that and we can both carry on with our lives as if nothing ever happened.”
The door slams. Eddie stands in front of you in a flash, brown eyes holding onto yours with force. He’s agitated. He runs a hand down his face before reaching for your shoulders, then dropping his arms back by his side just as fast.
“I cared, of course I cared!” He exhales to compose himself before continuing, “I still care.” It’s barely a whisper.
“Then why?”
“I-I… Well, I just…”
His mind is racing to find the right answer. The truth is what you’re after, unfortunately that’s the one thing he can’t give you yet. Not if he wants to continue witnessing your success. Because, at the end of the day, his own fame and fortune is no longer important. He could care less if it burned to the ground. Your fame however, your fortune, that’s not something Eddie’s willing to gamble. So again, until he can speak to your management, get ahead of your grandmother’s scheming, the truth will remain sealed.
At least some part of it.
“There was this girl. Back home.” Eddie begins, voice shaky, “Before you, she was the only girl that ever saw me for who I really was.”
“Chrissy Cunningham,” you say her name.
Eddie nods.
“Yeah, Chrissy,” he repeats the name. It tastes a little foreign on his tongue after all this time. “Seemingly the classic cheerleader type, you know? Blonde, preppy, always fucking smiling. But Chrissy, she uh… she was far from just a cheerleader. Like me, she was a little misunderstood and that’s what initially brought us together.”
“What happened to her?” You ask. “You keep saying ‘was’. Chrissy was, as if she’s no longer—”
“Look, sweetheart,” Eddie interrupts, “I-I don’t really talk about her. I don’t like to. Too many bad memories.”
“Right,” you murmur, nodding slowly.
“Long story short, I cared for her and it didn’t end well, so when my care for you started to surpass that feeling… I just got scared.”
“Then why not tell me about her in the first place?” You query, “We could’ve talked it out. Pumped the brakes on whatever our relationship was starting to become.”
Eddie doesn’t mean to, but he scoffs. “And then what, huh? Just tip-toe around how we’re actually feeling until that builds resentment? Then it just ends anyway, but it hurts a lot more, no?”
He’s running a hand through his wild locks. Frustrated wouldn’t be the right word. Annoyed feels borderline the same. Angry, yes, but not at you. Angry at the world for introducing such a perfect character into his otherwise shitty life because he’d be better off without you. No. You’d be better off without him? Also no. Jesus Christ, he’s fucking confused.
“That’s what you asked. If I didn’t end things, would we still be together. The truth is, sweetheart, I don’t know because I attract bad shit and people get hurt and… And I need you to be happy, with or without me.”
Silence falls upon the two of you. It’s heavy with the half-truths that were just revealed. Heavy with the underlying tones that are telling you Eddie still cares, and telling him that so do you — more than either of you were willing to admit back then, and even less now.
And there’s definitely feelings there. They bubbled up the second you laid your eyes on him again and as your few days together passed without a major blowout, they only grew stronger — something you explained to Holly, who said that Eddie was so unlike you, it only made sense to feel something towards him. Love him, even.
Perhaps the hurt was worth it.
“Oh, fuck.”
“What?” Eddie’s brows string together as you momentarily glance at your feet before settling your gaze back on the rockstar.
“Guess we were never supposed to do this right.”
“What?” Eddie asks again.
“You said that to me. Back in LA after that picture of us was leaked to the press, remember?”
“Vaguely,” he answers.
“What if you were right?” You ask, tone a little quieter than seconds prior.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart, but I’m not sure I’m following.”
Decided on your next move, in what you want to happen, you take a step towards the Corroded Coffin frontman so that the tips of your heels are touching his loosely tied Converse. You then place a hand on his chest, albeit hesitantly, and Eddie inhales a sharp breath (loud enough for you to hear).
“What if all of this, everything that happened between us, is because we were never meant to do this right in the first place, Eds?”
A timid smile circles your lips as the question you asked settles in the air. Loaded full of uncertainty for the future and everything that time ahead holds for the two of you. Your Nana would say that a person of your stature shouldn’t give into uncertainty, something that in Eddie’s case was often repeated by Marianne. Everything is always meticulously planned. No room for error because uncertainty leads to mistakes and those are a nightmare for your respective PR teams. Unfortunately for those teams, uncertainty is what drew you to each other in the first place.
That, and insane fucking attraction.
“I did come here because I regret my decision,” he says while you say, “I miss you.” Both come out at the same time. Mumbled, jumbled together. It registers though.
Without giving it a second thought, Eddie dips his head lower while his hands reach for your face, ring-clad fingers now holding your cheeks. In that same breath, his lips crash against yours in a yearning kiss — one that is fuelled by months of pent up tension and a desire you both shared since your first meeting back in August of ‘92.
It's a dance of fire. One that is burning bigger and brighter with every second his mouth is attached to yours. Dangerous, would be a good word to describe this moment, but the line has been crossed yet again and since there’s definitely no going back now, your fingers tangle themselves in his brown locks as you push your body closer. Eddie also gets braver. He bites down on your bottom lip and when you gasp ever so softly, the rockstar slides his tongue in with ease.
You feel elated. This is exactly what you’ve been missing and by the way Eddie’s tongue twirls within your mouth, hands squishing your face, afraid to let go, you know it’s what he’s been missing too.
It’s destructive, for sure. But the hurt is worth it. You know that now. You feel it. Every single fibre of your being grows more and more alive as Eddie presses into you further, as he caresses your skin with so much tenderness. And you’re beyond cloud nine. Beyond touching heaven. It’s destructive, but it’s bliss.
“If we keep kissing like this,” he whispers against your lips, forehead pressing against yours, “I’m afraid I won’t be able to contain myself.”
“Who says you have to?”
Eddie groans against your jawline before continuing to trail soft pecks along your skin until he reaches your ear, biting it gently.
“We should probably talk about what this means,” he says, but you just shake your head. “‘Cause friends don’t kiss like that, sweetheart.”
“I don’t care about that now, Eds.” You affirm, sure of what you want. Sure that you don’t ever want to forget him or move on. He is a part of you, forever. “I just want you.”
And with that your lips finds his again.
The kiss is feverish, messy. You’re tugging at each other’s clothes, desperately trying to get them out of the way as fast as possible. In an attempt to be even closer, propelled by an indescribable urge, Eddie shifts your positions so that his back is the one to the room, you’re by the wall, and mere seconds later, your back is pressed firmly against his chest.
His strong hands send shivers through your body as they make their way down until they reach your panties, skirt long disregarded, a garment on the floor. He no longer hesitates about what this means, ripping the material down before his feet are kicking your legs apart. Ring-clad fingers slide along the curve of your ass, kneading the flesh, desperate to feel you. All of you. And as one hand works to unzip his pants, the other works its way to your wet entrance, feeling along your slit.
“Please, please…” The excitement causes you to grow warm and moist in his hand.
He can’t contain himself. Removing his hand in a rapid manner, he pushes his cock inside of your starved pussy. You close your eyes at the contact and Eddie begins to fuck you, hard. Rhythm picks up rapidly and you’re clenching around him in a matter of minutes, lower muscles seizing at the contact they’ve long forgotten, but were now more than pleasantly reminded of.
“God,” he groans, “I fucking missed you.”
The moan that escapes your lips is nothing short of pornographic. It’s a direct response to his words, as well as his actions. He’s pounding into you relentlessly. There’s no time for pleasantries or any sort of softness. This is all about fulfilling a need-based desire and you’re more than willing to comply, high on his voice when he praises “Fuck, baby”, and “You’re doing so good for me, pretty girl.”
When you feel his hands grip your hips, you moan his name. Loud, pathetic. Undone. The rockstar begins to bounce you against him. Your knees weaken and you fall back onto him, head now resting on his shoulder, losing yourself completely in the moment and the pure ecstasy that you’re feeling. The pleasure is almost too much for you.
“Eddie, I’m so close,” you whisper, looking up at him through your lashes.
The Corroded Coffin frontman captures your mouth with his. Short, but far from sweet is the kiss. Hungry and devilish. He bites your bottom lip as he pulls away, drawing just a prick of blood.
“Let go for me, baby.”
When you do, obeying his request, your whole body shivers harshly in his embrace. Eddie keeps going, only his pace has slowed. He’s whispering sweet-nothings into your ear, continuously praising you for being his good girl, and you promise yourself that no matter what happens next, you’re going to be that forever.
The high soon ends and Eddie pushes you forward gently. You then feel the rockstar’s cock leave you, warm cum spurting over your ass without warning. You’re delighting in the feeling of his juices on your skin. He delights in it too, trailing his fingers over your rear until you turn around to face him.
There’s a smile on your face. Devious, yet benevolent.
Yes, Eddie thinks, Stevie Nicks was definitely right. ‘You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you.’ Not like he’d ever want to anyway.

So, saw a video on YouTube that was analyzing if Alastor exhibited traits similar to someone diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder. It was interesting, if a bit superficial and missing a lot of the smaller blink and you’ll miss it details (as well as for some reason omitting his past relationships and focusing only on his current ones), but it got me thinking about how much we know of who Alastor is.
And I think that we actually know a lot more about who he is as a person and what makes him tick than we think we do. What we don’t know is what his situation currently is, and that’s sort of conflated with not knowing or being sure of him and his motivations.
So to list what we do know of him in no specific order:
He claims he’s sponsoring the hotel because he wants to watch other people fail for his own entertainment, something that we know for sure now is not the case, or not the entire reason.
He was very desperate when making that deal with Charlie, this is something he was probably aiming for and has been waiting to do for a long time.
His disappearance is a sore spot that he doesn’t want others to be prying into.
He’s trapped in a deal that appears to be restricting either his actions, power, or both and he desperately wants to get out of the deal.
Related, the deal appears to be new, based off Husk’s comment and Alastor’s reaction/surprise at the comment.
Related, he HATES being reminded of his deal.
All his shown past friends are women. Conversely, he seems to get along well with women over men.
Related, he lets Mimzy, Nifty, and Rosie all touch or manhandle him around without showing discomfort or distaste. He also lets Husk poke him in the chest, and appears to have grown equally as comfortable around Charlie.
Related, he offers Charlie his microphone twice when she needed to do a big inspiring speech.
Related, his microphone appears directly linked to some of his powers, and could also be considered a weakness of his should it be broken.
He knows that Mimzy only ever comes to him when she needs something, and doesn’t care that he’s being manipulated and taken advantage of into taking care of her problems. In fact, Mimzy stated that he loves taking care of her (problems).
Related, the hotel is important enough that he can’t risk having that kind of behavior with Mimzy here, that he’s willing to shoo away one of his few friends he’s genuinely happy to see.
Rosie is his best friend, he’s the most comfortable with her and while in Cannibal town. It’s the only time we’ve seen him so cheerful and relaxed and smile like he means it. His smiles here are wide enough to show his gums, but his eyes and lips reveal its not just a well disguised snarl.
Related, he’s very excited to show off Cannibal town to Charlie when he brings her over.
Related, he hasn’t gone to see Rosie since the overlord meeting despite having had 5 months to do so after coming back from his hiatus.
Related, he doesn’t ask for Rosie to help during the battle, he specifically restates his favor to “well your cannibals help at least”. She’s seen sipping tea and listening to the news in the aftermath.
His beef with Lucifer started way before he ever met the guy. In his advertisement, he makes a note to say there’s no tacky circus decor at the hotel. When he sees the welcome sign he visibly sneers at it. When Lucifer finally shows up and hugs Charlie his eye is twitching.
Related, whatever beef he has with Lucifer is unrelated to Lucifer’s attitude towards him when they finally meet, though that certainly does not help.
Related, it’s also clearly not about being the most powerful person in the room because he doesn’t behave that way when speaking with Zestial, or during the overlords meeting.
Related, he’s bothered when Carmilla reveals she wasn’t curious about his absence (which fair. I’d hope my colleagues would ask where I’ve been if I went MIA for 7 years).
He offers Charlie advice on projecting confidence and control when she’s not, a tactic he employs every minute of every day.
He tends to be helpful but in a backhanded way. He helps Charlie get out of her funk by being mean about it and mocking her for accidentally landing the hotel in hot water. He summons an old fashioned mint condition camera for Vaggie at first before replacing it with a beat up and bandaged video camera. He helps Vaggie with the advertisement after watching her struggle. He does get rid of the eggs, but only for a day by taking them with him on his overlord meeting trip.
Related, more miscellaneous menial labor is usually done straightforwardly, like fixing the wall, for the umpteenth time and apparently unclogging the toilet when nifty gets stuck.
He likes listening to people vent about and struggle with their situation.
He does not like listening to people vent about and struggle with their love life.
Whatever he’s up to it appears as though he’s truly thrown his lot in with Charlie and the hotel, at least for now.
Apparently used to be friends or friendly with Vox. And will let people take a picture of him if it’s with an old fashioned camera.
After the battle, instead of returning to the others he drags himself to his radio tower, the one that fell down off a cliff after Adam destroys the hotel. This means he didn’t head there first when he retreated, and only went afterwards once the fight was over. He was probably staying close enough to see how the fight was going, evidenced by how he knew where to go to find his radio tower.
During his mental breakdown, he’s smiling harder than ever before, and only seems to regain some semblance of control when he’s restating his current goals.
Related, Alastor’s current objective is to free himself of the deal or find a loophole around it. He’s probably planning on using Charlie’s favor for that.
Related, Alastor could’ve also wanted a favor from Charlie as general insurance in the off off chance she ends up betraying him. He seems to let his guard down around her more after the deal, and even helpfully supplies her an army without any more prompting or deal making.
Alastor’s expression when talking about making soul deals in general.
Related, Alastor’s expression when talking about how Charlie still has her soul specifically.
Used to take out last overlords for slighting or doubting him, doesn’t do that anymore. There’s a chance he stopped doing that before his seven year absence.
Related, apparently Sir Pentious also didn’t know about what Alastor did to overlords back in the day??? And they’ve fought 20+ times??? Strengthens the assumption that Alastor stopped killing overlords after he’d established himself as a top dog. Deer. And before his disappearance.
Related, while Carmilla was surprised to see him at the meeting, she and the other overlords like Zestial weren’t scared of him and accepted his presence without complaint. If he were still actively hunting down overlords I doubt, as overlords themselves, they’d have been so comfortable in his presence.
Didn’t appear to have any plans in announcing his sudden return until Vox provoked him.
Related, his broadcasts might’ve been about overlord gossip, aside from the screaming.
Shared what he can do to help during the battle with the rest of the hotel. Specifically the shield he conjures.
Related, likely volunteered himself as the one to take on Adam, since he’s the most experienced and strongest fighter in the group (Charlie’s inexperience with using her power means she’s unsuited for the task).
He speaks fondly of the group as a whole when talking to Nifty when she speaks about how much she likes them (and can we keep them, please?).
Apparently he doesn’t just enjoy watching people’s suffering but also the bonds these wayward souls form with each other.
He does, still, enjoy kicking people when they’re down. Or rather kicking people when they try to challenge him and think they have a chance.
He really knows how to get under people’s skin.
Shark snacks go nom.
Additional points from the replies:
If Alastor was sent to the hotel against his will, then whoever sent him there also did not stipulate that he couldn’t make deals with the residents, which is a huge oversight. (Peppersnap79)
Husk and Nifty appeared to stay behind and help the hotel of their own free will, Alastor did not appear to order them to stay in any way. (Peppersnap79)
My Conclusions based on more things than just what I’ve listed out: he’s probably insecure about his status in hell after the seven year absence. Whatever happened during that time is also a sore point for him, something he doesn’t want others to know about or pry into.
His reputation as the Radio Demon is very important to him. He put a lot of effort into crafting the Radio Demon’s reputation and persona as someone to be feared and not to be fucked with. This is put at risk when he nearly dies protecting the hotel.
He smiles to put himself in control, to trick both others and himself into thinking that he’s got control of the situation or himself more than he actually does. He does not like being reminded that he is not in control of his life at the moment, and his current greatest desire is freedom from his deal. The more out of control he feels, he harder he tries to smile.
He is very soft and forgiving/tolerant with the few friends he has, and has grown visibly attached to or fond of the rest of the hotel. He also appears to be protective of them, in his own weird way. Constantly defending Mimzy against whatever trouble she brings and ultimately leaving Rosie out of the actual battle. This is counterproductive to his plans, and interferes in a way he hadn’t been expecting it to. Part of his breakdown is a direct result of this unexpected interference, that his own emotions had gotten him to risk his life defending the hotel (the group).
Restating his goals to eventually escape seems to reassure him and calm him/act as a grounding mechanism when he feels like he’s losing it. He’s using the Radio Demon persona like it’s a lifeline, because the Radio Demon is who he wants to be, needs to be, if he wants to get out. The Radio Demon’s always in control, he’s the one who holds all the cards, pulls all the strings. Nothing scares him, and nothing controls him.
He’s sadistic, calculative, intelligent, spontaneous, a showman, a softie, arrogant, egotistical, insecure and paranoid. He gets attached to things more easily than he’d care to admit, and lies to himself as much as he lies to everyone else. His Radio Demon persona is just as much a part of him as it is a mask to hide what’s going on underneath. What’s there to hide if he shows them what they want to see? The audience should only care for the play, not the actors behind the scene.

Hi how are U? I was wondering if, when you have time, could write something on jannik sinner x Italian reader where she's a normal girl living in a little town in northern italy( not jannik's town) and they're not public due to jannik wanting to keep his private life discrete. Well, he surprises her at her place and she introduces him to her family, which he hasn't meet it yet despite teyrebeing together for a while.
I know it's very specific, but I hope you don't mind.

You miss him.
Last time you two saw each other was almost two months ago and although you know it’s the right decision to keep your relationship out of public it kinda hurts. Text messages, phone calls and video calls are just not enough.
You sigh and close the programs on your computer. Today’s workday dragged on even more than yesterday. And even though it's finally Friday, you can’t really enjoy getting off work early. In five hours, you're supposed to be at your grandparents' place, along with your parents and your two sisters - plus their boyfriends. Usually, you love spending time with your family, but seeing your sisters with their boyfriends makes you miss Jannik even more.
Jannik has been an important part of your life for almost a year now and every day you’re really grateful that you decided to take that trip to Rome for a few days of vacation a year ago. On the evening of the day you arrived, you decided to visit the Roman Forum and asked a young man to take a photo of you in front of the illuminated sight. Jannik said yes, and although the photo turned out to be amazing and the Roman Forum looked really impressive, you couldn't take your eyes off Jannik. You spent a lot of time together and the days ended with you and Jannik as a couple.
You’ve had long talks about how to handle it, and it was especially important for Jannik to keep your relationship private. It's the right decision, but it makes things difficult.
Yeah, you’d love to be by his side more often. Go to his tournaments and cheer for him. But most of all, you’d like to introduce him to your family and friends. Even though you've been together for almost a year now, there hasn’t really been a good opportunity for Jannik to meet your family - press events and injuries have gotten in the way so far.
“Have fun at your family dinner, Y/N,” your colleague waves at you with a smile, snapping you out of your thoughts. “Thanks, that’s nice of you!”, you wave back, pack your phone into your handbag, and leave the office quickly.
On one hand, it would be fun, but on the other hand, it would remind you that Jannik is missing. Your family knows you have a boyfriend and that he’s really busy, but they don’t know who he really is. Nicolò, your older sister’s boyfriend, would lean over to you with a grin again: “Are you sure your mysterious boyfriend is real? We’ve never seen him.” He doesn’t mean any harm, he’s just a jokester, but it still bothers you a lot.
Deep in thought, you push open the main entrance door of the office and step out onto the street. You work for a great company, right in your hometown. Since you know the way home by heart, you aren’t paying attention to your surroundings and jump in surprise when you suddenly hear someone calling your name.
You look up and suddenly think you must be hallucinating.
This can’t be real, it’s completely impossible.
"Jannik?" you ask, utterly confused as the tall young man with a bright smile walks towards you, "Is it really you?"
"Hi Y/N!" he beams at you, clearly amused by your disbelief.
"But...what...why...you’re supposed to be playing tennis!"
"Should I leave and go back to playing tennis?"
"NO!", you blurt out in shock, jumping towards him to hug him, "Oh my god, Jannik!"
The South Tyrolean laughs softly and wraps his arms around you too: "I’m glad my surprise worked!"
"Worked? I can’t believe it! Oh, I’m so happy!", you have to force yourself to let go of him - there are always curious eyes around.
Jannik looks at you with his bright eyes, his hands now in his pockets, his smile a bit forced: "I’ve got a few days off and came to see you as soon as I could."
You frown, "A few days off? Why?"
"My hip's acting up again..."
You feel your stomach tighten, "How bad is it?"
Jannik tilts his head from side to side, staring straight at the street. "Just bad enough to take a break from training."
That’s an understatement."
Your boyfriend presses his lips together and lowers his head: "Can’t we just be happy we get some time together?"
"Of course," you smile at him. You know how much Jannik’s recurring hip issues bother him, but this isn’t the right time or place to talk about it. When Jannik is ready to talk, you’ll be there. You’ll wrap your arms around him, rest your head on his shoulder, and he will tell you everything.
"I’d say we go home to my place and I cook us something nice...I went to the grocery store yesterday!" you suggest as you both start the short walk to your apartment. You resist the urge to reach for Jannik's hand and intertwine your fingers.
"That sounds like a great idea. Maybe we could try your grandma’s pasta sauce again? Last time we almost got it perfect and -"
Jannik's words make you stop in your tracks: "My grandma!", you exclaim, grimacing, "I still need to call my grandparents and parents to let them know I won't be coming to the family dinner!" You can already hear your grandma's disappointed words and see your dad's disapproving frown when you cancel.
Jannik looks at you curiously: "What family dinner?", he asks.
You let out a deep sigh: "My grandparents invited the whole family over for dinner tonight. I'll call and cancel as soon as we get home."
"But... aren't you excited about the family dinner?"
"Yeah, of course!", you nod immediately but then shrug, "But I'd rather spend time with you! I've missed you so much!"
Jannik doesn’t respond immediately, but you can see he’s deep in thought. After a few seconds, he finally speaks, his voice softer than usual. "We...we could go to your grandparents' together."
You think you’ve misheard and look at him in surprise. "What?"
A small smile appears on Jannik’s face. "I’d really like to meet your family, Y/N. I think it's long overdue."
Your entire family was, of course, absolutely thrilled with Jannik.
Later, your grandma would say: "Where have you been hiding this perfect son-in-law all this time?"
The family dinner went definitely differently than planned and so much better than you could have ever imagined.
Sitting among your family, laughing at one of your dad's terrible jokes, with Jannik's arm around your shoulders, was definitely the perfect evening.

Okay I’ve been toying with an idea for a Six of Crows au post-Crooked Kingdom where Van Eck won for a little while now and yeah idk but I had a scene idea come to me just now so I’m gonna write it here to see what you guys think and if there’s any interest then I might add it to my list of fics to write
This feels like a weird introduction but, er, here we go:
Inej knew the moment Kaz got home. There were no longer any crowds in the house to come to attention at his entrance, or if there were then no-one had bothered to come down to the half-room and tell Inej, but she could hear his voice drifting through the vents as soon as the door upstairs banged shut behind him.
“Where’s Inej?”
“Where do you think?” Matthias’ reply came roughly, and Inej could all but picture the disapproving grimace that must be crossing his face about now.
Let him judge. She didn’t need to leave the half-room, and for as long as that was true she wouldn’t. The vents did not give her every room though, and she did miss gathering her secrets. She wondered if there was anyone else in the house, but the five of them. Five? She stopped and counted them on her fingers. Yes, five. Hopefully still five. Inej had not bothered to leave the half-room in days, and no-one had been down to see her since yesterday morning.
She heard the door click open behind her, of course, but she did not bother to look up as Dirtyhands entered the room.
“Wraith,”
“Don’t you read the papers, Kaz?” Inej asked, without turning, “The Wraith is dead,”
She stood up, hand wandering across the table for her little pot of jurda. It tasted like shit and it wasn’t nearly as strong as she wanted it to be, but it took less than a month for the price of the blossoms to surpass the height of the stars so she’d have to make do with whatever they had left.
“Inej-”
“They found her body on the steps outside the Church of Barter almost three months ago, remember?” she finally turned to face Kaz, unscrewing the lid on the little silver pot as she did so, “Killed by some mercenary called the White Blade, who still hasn’t been found by they way in case you haven’t seen the latest. I guess it’s difficult to catch a ghost,”
Difficult to catch a wraith.
“We’ve had this conversation several times, Inej-”
“And we’re going to have it again,”
Inej placed an orange jurda blossom on her tongue, then offered the open container to Kaz. It was almost empty. He waved her off.
“I thought you didn’t go in for that sort of thing,”
Inej shrugged.
“Gotta stay awake somehow, haven’t I? We’re busy,”
“We’re not on a job”
“We’re never on a job. Unless the reason you’ve bothered to grace me with your presence is a proposition?”
Kaz shook his head.
“I just wanted to tell you there’s no news,”
Inej looked away. There was never any news. And yet somehow she always expected differently.
“He’s dead, isn’t he?”
“Probably,”
Inej caught another jurda blossom between her fingers. She needed to stay awake, because if she slept she would see him. She would see all the ways she’d failed.
“It wasn’t your fault, Inej, we’re having the same conversations on repeat can’t you see-,”
“And we’ll have them again,” she shrugged, “We will have this conversation again, Kaz, because I made a mistake and you are coddling me like a child who won’t be able cope if you tell them something was their fault. Tell me it was my fault, Kaz! We both know that it’s true,”
Kaz shook his head.
“I’d rather repeat the previous,”
“Then let’s,” snapped Inej, because hell if this jurda wasn’t strong enough to keep her awake then maybe an argument would be, “Let’s repeat the goddamn conversation, Kaz, because you’re right. We have the same two conversations on repeat and do you want to know why? Because I am owning up to the mistake I made and I am trying to deal with the consequences of it, but you had no right to do what you did, do you understand me? You messed up and you need to take some damn responsibility, because if you think-”
“You always knew Tailoring Dunyasha’s body to look like yours was a possibility for your escape option,” said Kaz, calmly.
She hated how quiet his voice was, how slow and deliberate he sounded next to the and ramblings that she could not stop from stumbling out of her.
“You know that’s not what I meant,” she hissed, slamming her jurda back down on the table.
“I couldn’t have done anything to stop that,”
“You could have tried,”
“Inej-”
“Shevrati,”
Know-nothing.
She waved a hand vaguely at the door.
“Get out,”
Kaz turned to leave, then paused.
“I am sorry, Inej. They’d like to see you upstairs, you know. Nina misses you,”
“Nina can come down here then,”
“Inej… I can’t do anything for you but apologise,”
“Keep you apologies,” she snarled, and when the door had closed behind him added: “Choke on them,”
Kaz could apologise all he wanted. She would not forgive him. What right did he have to expect anything different from her than this? Did any of them? Kaz had not had to watch his parents cry, as they carried home the body of a child that wasn’t theirs. Kaz had not had to feel the ironclad grip of the person he thought he’d trusted most in the world as they held him back and told him to swallow his sobs and keep quiet. Kaz had not given up and gone limp in their arms, a mess of tears and useless prayers, as he saw his parents slip from his grasp once again and knew that he would not have the chance to tell them truth.
Kaz had also not failed the others, and did not have to feel the truth of that choking him every time he saw them. Kaz had not spent almost three months barely daring to venture out of the half room, just so he would never have to lock eyes with Jesper Fahey. There was a scream inside Inej that had been slowly building itself since the day of the auction, and if she did not find a way to release it soon it may very well eat her alive.

Dolor Pt. 2
Tumblr media
Pairing: Chris Sturniolo X Female Reader
Synopsis: Y/N hasn’t seen Chris in a year and a half, but with the help of her friend she’s surprised by them🤭 Will those feelings still be there for one another?
Warnings⚠️: None, I’m not too sure how I feel about this one, but I had no other idea on how to write it so I hope y’all enjoy 🙃
Song for the imagine: ANGEL- Brent Faiyaz
Read part 1 here🫶🏽
Don’t ever leave my side, baby I’ll die
But from what I know, you’re always here to stay
You’re an angel in disguise
It has been a solid year and half since Chris and I broke up, a solid year and half of never seeing him or his brothers. It was very hard, but it also flew by. I wasn’t sure where a year and half went. It was honestly scary.
We both told each other we’d love to cross paths, and reconnect in a few months to be friends, but life got in the way, and that never happened. I’m honestly glad it didn’t, we were both so busy I believe it helped us move on from one another faster.
We all stood mutuals with each other on instagram and TikTok, but we just didn’t interact with each other. I watched them grow in all aspects, and it was amazing. I thought I’d be there to witness it first hand, but instead I was watching from the sidelines….it hurt me, but it had to be done.
My TikTok was flooded with videos of them from their tour they were just on, and it’s honestly crazy how much people can change in a year and a half. That didn’t even look like Chris. He was much more mature looking, sculpted cheekbones, shorter hair, stubble on his face…..Chris was looking good.
I shook that feeling off because I could not allow myself to fall back in love with Chris. It took me a long time to move on from him. I will always love the kid, but to fall out of love was hard. I hadn’t seen or talked to any other guys since splitting with Chris, and I wasn’t too sure if that was the same with him. Deep down I hoped it was.
I was scrolling on TikTok one day when I saw a clip of the triplets from their recent podcast video, they were doing a Q and A video, and somehow Chris pulled out a question asking about me. I decided to watch the video
“Okay so this person says how’s Y/N, and how have you been since the breakup. I’m currently going through my own break up right now, and I just need some advice” Chris read out
“So uh this is a good question. It’s been a year and a half since I’ve last seen Y/N, and it’s crazy to say it’s been that long, but it has. With the relationship we had and how special it was it took me a full year to finally be able to feel okay, and understand why we split up. It hurt and some part of me still hurts, but we told each other the night we broke up that we both will be okay because we’re strong, and that’s something I’ve been holding on to. I presume that she’s okay, I’ve seen her instagram posts and her TikTok’s, and she looks amazing. I actually really miss the girl. So I hope she’s doing great, and for you going through your break up just know everything happens for a reason and you’ll be okay take your time and work on yourself” he said
Oh god this was making it so hard for me not to call Chris and ask to see him….I missed him so badly
I scrolled some more and another clip popped up
“This person wants to know do you still love Y/N” Nick asked Chris
“Oh 100% that woman is my everything. Like we’ve said in the past we hope to cross paths again” Chris said nodding his head
This has to be a sign? Like this has to be a sign that I have to see him, that Chris and I are meant for each other right? Or am I being delusional……
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to call him, text him or just ignore all this and keep it pushing in life. I felt torn between my decisions
Today I was getting ready to film with Larray and Arrington. I had gotten so close to them within the last year, and we always filmed together. Larray was my biggest supporter in all this, and he was also friends with the triplets which kind of made it hard, but he never got in between anything. Although he hoped and prayed that we’d get back together one day I always told him time will tell.
He had an idea where we all stay in his car for 24 hours with special guests. I wasn’t sure who these guests were, and I wasn’t sure why he wanted us to stay in a car for 24 hours, but I agreed I knew it would be fun.
I had driven over to Larrays house, and let myself in
“YOOOOO” I yelled from the door
“Were in hereeee” Arrington yelled back
Oh god I was the last one here….I hated this, but anyways I walked to Larrays room, and when I walked in my heart sank
“Oh” was all I said as I walked in
“Hiiiii baby” Larray said, causing everybody to turn around with him the triplets face dropping
“What’s? Uh….whats going on” I said looking at Larray
“We’re filming a video, and I brought my friends” he said back
“It’s been so long” Chris said looking at me saddened
“It ummm it has” I said smiling at him
“We have missed you so fucking much….holy shit” Nick said running over and hugging me
“Uhh it’s been so fucking long I missed yall too” I said hugging him
“Matt you look so different now” I said jaw dropping and giving him a hug
“Good different I hope” he said hugging me
“Of course good different” I said laughing at him
I moved to Chris
“You look so different too” I said pulling him in for a hug
“I’ve missed you” he said hugging me tighter
“Missed you too” I said pulling away
After chatting for a bit Larray decided to film his introduction for his channel
“Alright bitches we are filming a 24 hour car video today, and of course I had to bring in my ride or dies Arrington and Y/N” he said and both Arrington and I made an entrance
“And then you know Larray had to stir the pot, so he brought the triplets” Arrington said to the camera causing us to laugh
“As uhhh most of you know there’s uh an elephant in this room between uh two people, but ummm we won’t talk about it” Larray said
And we just laughed at him
“You are so messy” I said to him rolling my eyes playfully
“Alright let’s get to the car bitches” he said and we ran out
I sat in the passenger seat, Chris and Arrington in the back, and then Nick and Matt in the third row
“Alright so right now we’re driving to Target which is 45 minutes away because Larray decided to do this video during rush hour” I said to the camera
“Uh- is that a drag?” He asked me
“It sure is” I said to him
“So Y/N….you said Matt looks different….you already had Chris so will you try another brother” Arrington asked me
I looked back at him jaw on the floor, as Chris and his brothers were laughing
“You weirdo Arrington, I will not fucking get with Matt” I said shaking my head
“Could you believe this kid” I said looking at the camera
“Ouuuu the fans want to know how many boyfriends since Chris” Larray asked me
“Boyfriends plural? Do they think I’m a slut….its only been a year and a half guys, and there’s been zero guys since Chris” I said shrugging my shoulders
“OHHHHHH CHRISSSS” Larray and Arrington yelled at him hyping him up
“She loves me too much to do that” Chris said to the camera
“Uh-“ I said turning around to look at him
“I’m just kidding” he said and touched my face playfully
“SAW THAT” Nick and Matt yelled from the back
We had finally gotten to Target, and Chris and I were paired up to go on the hunt for some things, and we had to vlog it together
“Alright guys I’m here with uh….my ex” I said to the camera
“What a great reunion” he said looking at the camera
“Who would’ve thought a year and a half later we’d be in Target shopping for a video together” I said looking at him
“I honestly thought it would’ve happened sooner, but I mean hey” he said shrugging his shoulders
“Oh whatever” I said rolling my eyes at him
Him and I were doing some shopping and grabbing some stuff, and we had found ourselves in the coloring book aisle
“Look the Disney coloring book, your favorite” he said leaning down to grab it
“You remembered?” I asked him
“Of course I did, and you only get specific coloring pencils cause you’re weird” he said laughing
“Hey don’t be mean” I said laughing at him
“It’s cute” he said smiling at me
“Do you ever think about us?” I asked him
“Pretty often actually” he said looking at me
“Do you think you see a future with me” I asked him
“I’ve thought about this a lot, and every time I picture my future you’re a main character in it” he said looking into my eyes
“This year and a half has been rough, and I so badly wanted nothing more than to cave and call you over, and just hold you tight” I said looking down
“I sat in my room for so many nights wondering if the decision I made was right, and after a while I just became numb to the feeling, but I want this again….I want us” he said
“I think we should start slow first. I want us to truly work out this time no break ups no nothing” I said to him
“I think so too, you should come film with us again we miss you so much, and the fans miss you too” he said
“I’ve seen…all over my tik tok” I said smiling at him
“Yeah they love you and I love you too so much” he said pulling me in for a hug
We finished vlogging some, and headed back to the car with everybody getting back in our original seats
“Okay everybody we are back, we’re going to go eat something and then we’ll be back in the car for the next 24 hours” Larray said
After we ate we went back into Larrays car trying to stick out this challenge and just chatting with each other asking each other questions
“How many girlfriends since Y/N?” Larray asked Chris
“None. I told yall she’s the love of my life” he said looking at the camera
“Awww Chris” I said looking at him
“HEY CITY GIRLS UP. Do not fall for this” Arrington said
“Shut the fuck up” I said laughing at him
“What’s one regret you have” Nick asked us
“I think my biggest regret was completely dropping you guys out of my life. Like no interactions no nothing that hurt the most” I said to them
“We appreciate that” Matt said
“How do you guys feel after seeing each other” Matt asked Chris and I
“Is this a hot seat? What are we doing” Chris said
“Shut the fuck up and answer” Nick said
“I feel at peace, like seeing him was the last piece to my puzzle. I still love Chris of course, and we’re hoping to take things slow, and eventually get together again” I said to them
“Yeah. I love her so much, and seeing her today brought back all those memories. Memories that made my heart flutter, and I knew I couldn’t let her go again” he said looking at me
“Yall cute as shit this has got to stop” Larray said
“So yall heard it here first they are back together” Arrington said to the camera
“WOAH WOAH NO” we both said putting our hands out
“We are taking it slow…we are not dating yet, and trust me you guys will know when we’re back together. It’s a maybe for right now” I said to the camera
“But she will be in our videos again” Chris said
“SHE WILL?” Nick and Matt said
“Yes she will!” He said to them
“FUCK YES FINALLY” Nick said getting excited
We had chatted for a good thirty more minutes before we decided this challenge was not going to happen
“Alright guys we did not make it, but we love you and we’re heading inside now” Larray said
“BYEEEEEE” we all yelled to the camera, Chris pulling me in and kissing my forehead
“Are you guys going to soft launch your comeback before I post this?” Larray asked us
“You know that’s not a bad idea actually” I said looking at Chris
“We could do that. I’d love to do that” he said pulling me in and kissing my cheek
“Yall soft launching but he smoochin on you” Matt said looking at us
“Uhhhh mind your business” Chris said sticking his tongue out at him
“OMG to keep it like private you guys could do like a couples shadow picture” Nick said
“Waittttt I love that let’s do it” I said to Chris
We had snapped the picture, and Chris posted it collabing with me once again so I can post and share it. Nick and Matt also shared it to their story saying the gangs back together and they can’t wait to film with me again. Immediately the love we got was INSANE

SECRET’S OUT — TREVOR ZEGRAS
trevor zegras x fem! hughes! reader
pt 2 to Teenager in Love
summary: in which y/n and Trevor’s relationship gets revealed.
warnings: pet names, mention of anxiety, alcohol, loving brother-sister relationship (kisses on cheeks)(yes, i made that a warning, so if that icks you out..)
notes: to clear up the timeline, Trevor and y/n got together in June of 2022, and this is set in February of 2023
Tumblr media
we’ve been in California for all of 5 hours and i’m bouncing off the walls to see Trevor. first the team went to check in to the hotel, then Jack, Jesper, Dawson, Ryan, and John decided to go out for dinner, and i was hoping that would be my chance to skip out and surprise Trevor at his apartment, but Jack wouldn’t let me out of his sight. now we just got to a bar, where Trevor will be joining us. it’s not exactly the alone time i would’ve liked to have with him, but at least i get to see him. i’m sat in a booth with Dawson while the other guys grab drinks.
“you’re antsy.” Dawson acknowledges. he looks me up and down, from my lip biting to my bouncing leg. “why are you so fidgety?”
“i’m not.” i know my denial is no good, but i still attempt.
“yeah, you are. look at you.” i can’t help but glance at the entrance for what feels like the hundredth time in the past five minutes that we’ve been here, waiting to see my boyfriend walk through.
“i think i’m just still wired up from the flight. i hate planes.” the lie slips off my tongue easily, but with the way he still eyes me, i don’t think he believes me.
“sure.” he drags out, and before he can say anything else, the other guys arrive back at the table. Jack slides a sprite in front of me, and i send him a look. he was supposed to get me a beer like he and the guys are drinking.
“don’t give me that look.” Jack says. “you’re too young to drink.”
“that never stopped you. Quinn used to get you beers at bars all the time before you turned twenty-one.” i tell him, but i still take a sip of the soda anyways.
“yeah, but you’re not me. you’re my baby sister. if it were up to me, you wouldn’t even be allowed to drink at twenty-one.” i roll my eyes. overprotective brother at its finest.
“i’m a year younger than you. it’s not like i’m twelve. you can’t keep calling me your baby sister.” i tell him. he levels me with a look of his own.
“you’ll always be my baby sister. and as your big brother, it’s my job to take care of you.” i give up. having had this same fight several times before, i know it’ll always end the same way; with him getting his way.
my sight goes back to the entrance, and it’s then that i see Trevor and his friend Jamie walk in. i sit up straighter, peeking over the heads of others in order to watch him as they make their way over to the booth. i bite back a smile, but it’s nearly impossible after having not seen him since his game in New Jersey a month ago. and before that we had gone five months without seeing each other. much of our eight month long relationship has been long distance, so every chance i get to see him means the world to me.
i feel a gaze on me and look over to see Dawson watching me with a suspicious look in his eye. i quickly take a second to calm myself down, there’s no way Dawson could catch on. if Jack hasn’t even noticed, then i don’t think anyone will.
Trevor stops in front of the table, a wide grin on his face.
“Hughsie!” he exclaims and Jack stands up to give him a hug. Trevor nods a ‘what’s up?’ to the other guys before his eyes settle on me. “i don’t get a hug from my favorite Hughes?”
i finally let my smile grace my lips and i slide out of the booth, possibly too fast to be casual, and wrap my arms around his neck.
“i missed you.” i mumble into his neck. one of his hands rubs my back as the other wraps around my waist.
“i missed you too, babygirl.” he whispers in my ear. i pull away way too soon for my liking, but we can’t risk Jack getting suspicious. i slide back into the booth, but instead of Jack sitting next to me, Trevor takes the spot.
the guys all start talking, joking around with each other, but i’m unable to focus. my only thoughts being on Trevor’s hand, which rests on my thigh under the table, causing a shiver to rush through me. he looks down at me for a second and i smile up at him. i feel like a dope, but this boy really does make me so happy, even with the simplest of touches. he looks back at John, who’s saying something about basketball, but i keep my gaze on him, watching him smile and laugh. i barely even notice the smile that spreads across my face at the sound of his laugh.
i feel a kick against my leg and look across the table to Dawson, who’s eyes flicker between Trevor and i before he gives me a ‘what the fuck?’ look. i feign innocence, shaking my head and shrugging my shoulders in a ‘what?’ motion before finally paying attention to the conversation at hand. it’s less than a minute later that i feel my phone buzz in my back pocket. taking it out, i see a text from Dawson.
From: Dawson 🇨🇦
what the hell is going on with you and Trevor?
my eyes widen and i look up at him from across the table, only to find him already watching me. i look back at my phone, typing a reply before i look back at him.
To: Dawson 🇨🇦
idk what u mean
he sends me a distrustful glance before he drops the topic and goes back to talking with the guys.
“i’m gonna go grab a drink, you wanna come with me?” Trevor leans down to whisper in my ear, eyeing my almost empty glass, and i nod. i grab my glass, sucking down my last little bit of sprite before we slide out of the booth.
“i’m gonna go grab a beer, anyone need another one?” Trevor asks. they all shake their heads.
“i’m gonna go get a refill.” i inform Jack. he nods and retrieves his wallet from his pocket, grabbing his debit card and holds it for me to take.
“here, use this.” he says. i’m more than aware that Jack’s love language is gift giving, most specifically, he likes to pay for my things. no matter how big or small, and no matter how many times i resist, if i’m with him and i go to buy something, he ends up paying for it. he claims it’s his way of paying me back for all the hockey practices i had to go to when we were younger.
“i got her drink, J. no worries, man.” Trevor speaks up. Jack sends him a look, but then shrugs and puts his card away. Trevor leads the way to the bar and i follow behind him, pinky linked with his so that i don’t lose him in the crowded establishment. when we get to the bartender, Trevor orders a beer and another sprite for me. he looks over at the booth full of our friends before wrapping his arm around my shoulders, tucking me into his side and placing a quick kiss on my temple.
“you coming home with me tonight, pretty girl?” he asks, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
“i would if i could, but Jack has us sharing a hotel room, so he’ll know if i’m not there. i’m sorry, Trev.” i tell him.
“it’s okay, babe. i understand. we’ll just have to make the most of our time here tonight.” he smiles and it makes my heart skip a beat. how did i get so lucky? “you feeling up to some of our lake house tricks tonight?”
i smile at the memories of our lake house rendezvous. sneaking away to have quick make out sessions while everyone else was distracted or making up excuses at the same time in order to get away for a little bit.
“yeah, i think we could make that happen.” i gaze up at him with love in my eyes. i wasn’t sure if our relationship would really work with us living across the country from each other, but we’ve found ways to make it up. he’ll have flower deliveries scheduled for while Jack is at practice, i call him after every game so that he can rant to me about it all, we have facetime movie dates, and we make the best of the time we get when we do see each other.
he smiles down at me before letting me go to grab our drinks that were just slid in front of us. we walk back to the table, slipping back into our seats, and i see Dawson giving us a look again. i level him with my own look and he narrows his eyes at me then goes back to talking to the guys.
i stay mostly silent for the the next half hour, only speaking when anyone asks me a question. but when i notice Trevor take the last sip of his beer, i poke his hand, which has reclaimed its spot on my thigh. he turns his head to look at me.
“can you let me out? i need to use the ladies room.” i itch my nose after i speak, using our code to meet up. Trevor smirks before standing up and letting me get out of the booth before he sits back down. i look towards Jack, who’s attention has shifted me now that i’ve stood up. i bend down to talk to him privately. “i’m going to the bathroom real quick. i’m feeling a little overwhelmed and i need a moment.”
is it wrong of me to use my anxiety as an excuse to get away with Trevor? maybe. but what good is having anxiety if i can’t use it to my advantage sometimes?
“are you okay?” Jack asks, his face full of worry, and it makes me feel a little guilty.
“yeah bubs, i’m okay. i just need a few minutes by myself.” Jack nods, and reassures me to text him if i need him before pressing a quick kiss to my cheek. i rush off towards the empty hallway leading towards the bathrooms, sparing a glance over my shoulder to make sure Trevor was watching where i went.
i stand in the hallway for about 3 minutes before Trevor comes around the corner, backing me up so my back presses into the wall and laying his hands to rest on my hips.
“clever girl, timing it just perfectly so that i can say i need to get a new beer.” he smirks.
“so glad you caught on. i wasn’t sure if you would put it together.” my tone is teasing, but the way i snake my arms around his neck makes up for it. his fingers dig into my side, tickling me, and i giggle, squirming in his arms. he doesn’t give me much reprieve before his lips attack mine. he pulls back, tugging my bottom lip with him, making me let out a quiet moan.
“eight months and your brothers are all still just as oblivious as when we started.” he chuckles. “although i do wish i could tell Jack so he would stop harassing me about not pulling any girls tonight.”
“i wish we could tell him too.” i run the back of my hand across his cheek and he shivers at the soft touch. “but i think we both have a pretty good guess of how that would go down. and i like your pretty face too much to let him bruise it.”
he grins, ducking down once more to pull my lips to his. this kiss is unlike the last one. sweet and slow rather than fast and passionate. i let him slip his tongue past my lips, exploring my mouth and turning the kiss a bit more heated. he pulls against my hips, making my lower body press against his, and the feel of his growing bulge pressing against me makes my thighs clench in need.
“god, i wish we could spend the night together.” my words are mumbled against his lips and he hums in agreement.
“i knew it!” we both rip away fast, pushing away from each other so that we’re on opposite sides of the hallway. i look over to the entrance of the hallway, only to find Dawson standing there with wide eyes and parted lips. “i knew it. you tried to deny it, but i’m not oblivious!”
“shhh!” i shush him and peek around him, with wide eyes, frantically searching for Jack, but i find him still around the corner, seated at the table and talking with his friends. i bring focus back on Dawson. “you cannot, under any circumstances, tell Jack!”
“why not?” he asks, and it makes me want to shake him. has he not seen how protective Jack is?
“because he’ll fucking kill me, dude.” Trevor deadpans. “i’m sure you got the ‘stay away from y/n’ lecture!”
“well, yeah, all the guys on the team got it the second he found out she was moving in with him. but what i’m most concerned about is why you didn’t listen to him.” Dawson replies, raising an eyebrow.
“hey! don’t give me that look! i listened to him for years! i kept my hands to myself until she told me she liked me!” Trevor defends.
“okay, wait— don’t blame this all on me! you dared me to tell you who i liked!” i throw back at him.
“and i don’t regret it one bit, baby.” he winks at me and a slow smile spreads across my face.
“me neither. best eight months of my life.” i tell him.
“eight months?!” Dawson exclaims. i kind of forgot he was there for a second. “you guys have been sneaking around Jack’s back for eight. months?”
“to be fair, we’ve also been sneaking around behind Quinn and Luke’s backs too. not just Jack’s.” Trevor shrugs. bless his heart, he’s not making this sound any better.
“that’s not— that’s not better, babe.” i sigh, shaking my head and rubbing his bicep. Dawson just shakes his head and walks past us.
“hey, where are you going?” i ask.
“to the bathroom. where i was supposed to be going when i walked in on you guys sucking face.” he throws over his shoulder, not bothering to stop. once he’s inside the men’s restroom, i look over at Trevor.
“we should probably go back before someone else gets suspicious.” i frown, winding my arms Trevor’s waist and pushing my face into his chest. his arms wrap around my shoulders and i feel him press a kiss to the top of my head.
“yeah, let’s go babygirl.” he grasps my chin, tilting my head up and pressing one last soft kiss to my lips. “i’m gonna go back to the bar to get another beer, you can go ahead and go back to the table first.”
i nod and turn to leave the hallway, but when i turn around, there stands Jack. his hands are in fists at his sides, jaw clenched, and eyes full of anger. i freeze at the sight of him, and my face contorts in guilt.
“what the fuck did i just see?” he questions, his voice strained and low.
“that depends.” i tell him, feigning innocence as much as i can. “how much did you see?”
“well i think i just saw you two kiss. but i must be seeing things because my best friend and my baby sister would certainly never break the strict rules i have set, would they?”
i flinch. Jack has always been pretty good at that, making me feel even more guilty when i already am. he used to do it when we were kids, if i hurt him or broke one of his toys, and now apparently his talent for it never left.
“how long has this been going on?” he asks.
“eight months.” i whisper, looking down at my feet to avoid the look of betrayal that i know will be painted across his face.
“i can explain.” Trevor speaks up.
“don’t bother. i gave you one rule when we became friends. one.” Jack growls. “and you broke it. i told you to keep your hands off my baby sister, but you just couldn’t help yourself, could you?”
“hold on, that’s not fair-” Trevor is cut off by Jack.
“no! what’s not fair is you sneaking around behind my back!” Jack’ raises his voice.
“well how else were we supposed to date, Jack? you haven’t exactly been malleable about your stupid rules!” i snap. “i’m so sick of you, and Quinn, and Luke, and your stupid fucking rules! do you not realize how much they’ve fucked me up? i’ve never had a boyfriend before Trevor because you guys always scare guys off. i can’t handle difficult situations because you guys have never let me figure things out on my own. you guys are so overbearing! even dad is more laidback than you are. so give me a break! yes, i’m sorry, Trevor and i started dating behind your back, but if you would let me live my own life then maybe we wouldn’t have had to!”
my chest rises and falls in rapid breaths when i finish speaking. i’m scared for Jack’s reaction, but it also feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. i’ve held that in for so long, and with Jack not letting us explain, i could no longer help myself. sensing my emotions, Trevor takes hold of my hand, comforting me.
“how long have you felt this way, y/n?” Jack asks, his voice soft and sounding hurt. “you should’ve told me. we thought we were protecting you.”
“a long time. i’m sorry, Jack. i really am. i should’ve told you before, but i really didn’t want to hurt your feelings.” i tell him.
“and you? this isn’t just some game to you, is it? because if it is, you’ll never see me again unless i’m beating your ass on the ice.” Jack looks at Trevor, an eyebrow raised in questioning.
“this isn’t a game, Jack. i love y/n.”
he loves me.
he’s said it before, but hearing him tell it to my brother makes it feel so real.
“i don’t like this.” Jack sighs. “but you guys didn’t listen to me in the first place, so i don’t think there’s anything i can really do about it.”
i drop Trevor’s hand, rushing forward to pull my brother in a hug. his arms wrap around my waist, pulling me tighter to him.
“you’re my baby sister. i just wanted to protect you.” he whispers in my ear, and i let out a short sob.
“i know Jacky, and you did. but you went a little too far. and i should’ve told you when i first started feeling this way. i shouldn’t have kept it in, i’m sorry.” i cry.
“you don’t need to apologize. i do. i’m sorry, y/n/n.” he pulls away and presses a kiss to my cheek before speaking again. “but if he breaks your heart, he’s a dead man.”
i chuckle quietly, before stepping back beside Trevor.
“are we good, man?” Trevor asks.
“yeah, we’re good. but good luck telling Quinn. you think i was bad? think about what her oldest brother will be like.” Jack smirks. Trevor’s eyes grow wide, and he looks at me for reassurance but i just grimace. Jack kinda has a point. Jack might be overprotective, but as my oldest brother, Quinn takes the cake with his protective role.
a door creaks open and we all look back towards the men’s restroom. Dawson’s head peaks out.
“is it safe to come out now?”

Back from my portrait hiatus, I drew my darling babygirl.
I have been trying to go through my thoughts about what OFMD has meant (and means) to me. It’s been some days now since we heard from David Jenkins that it is officially over… In my heart I was expecting it, but it was still a blow. Still, during the time between the initial cancellation and right now, I have been slowly coming to terms with the fact that we have two wonderful, wonderful seasons of TV and they are forever. I know for a fact that even if Max deleted the show and it was never again seen anywhere (legally), it would be forever burned into my brain. I can recite it in my sleep at this point, yet I still keep re-watching. Why? Because this show is like no other, to me.
When S1 first came out, I was not the person I am now. Nothing much has changed externally, but in my mind, things have shifted. The character of Ed triggered my the journey of figuring out that much of my personality and behaviours have very likely been shaped by trauma. Now, I have been in therapy, have been hospitalised multiple times, have been seeing a psychiatric nurse for years - I know I have issues, some of them even have names. But not until I saw Ed did I realise that trauma may be at the core of it all.
It’s funny, because I’m not like Ed. I am very introverted, very insecure, not particularly skilled, not popular. But I relate to him so much it’s not even funny. What happens to him means the world to me. So what a gift it is that we got to end at Ed being happy, and on his way to recovering from all the traumatic experiences of his past. He got his happy ending! That is a rare thing indeed. I felt vindicated in some way, like I was cheering on a dear friend and they triumphed.
So, in some ways, I can’t be too upset that we don’t ever get more of all their stories. Of course I AM upset, but not necessarily so much for myself - more for the creators, and the fandom as a whole. Most of my friends have not even seen S2, and none of them is obsessed with this show like I am. It gets lonely sometimes, but when I come on Tumblr and scroll through my dash, I see all these people who ARE obsessed, and who really live and breathe the show. I am an outsider looking in, but it’s still a bit less lonely.
My contribution to the fandom is an occasional art, and reblogging All The Things to by sideblog @dearpirates - it hasn’t got that many followers, but really I am using it as my teenage bedroom wall where I plaster all the shiny and lovely and maddening things for myself to see. There are so many wonderful things and people in this fandom.
I really hope the fandom survives, and thrives. I would miss it dearly if it ever went away. Many of the people I follow feel like friends to me, even though we’ve never spoken. That said… if you ever want to talk to someone about anything OFMD related, my inbox is there for you. Ask box too. I would love to actually talk to people, but I am very shy so I can’t really take the first step usually 😅
This got long. Thank you if you read to the end and didn’t just look at the art above and scroll past the wall of text.

fuck you *writes an entire fic of this idea because frank morrison supremacy AND AAAAAA CUTE*
❝ 𝑺𝒖𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝑬𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓. ❞
Frank Morrison x Fem! Survivor Reader.
— The concept of soulmates never interested Frank, but now that he’s found you under these circumstances you’ve got his full attention.
‼️tws;; brief mentions of violence (srry ur friends get clapped), meg. ‼️
Tumblr media
The fire at the center of the camp crackled softly with the only other source of sound coming from the other two lively killers interacting with one another. The Legion keeping to themselves sitting farther from the banter from across the flames.
Everyone was tired, but nobody could sleep. The other three kept themselves on their toes in case it was time for one of their trials, Frank still tried to settle despite the rough conditions the group had been tossed in.
Another killer had left since it was time for their trial, leaving the antsy few to sit down until they came back.
Joey had sat down next to Frank, leaving Julie and Susie to themselves since he had so real interest in the girls’ conversations.
With the masks on Frank could tell the other man had something on his mind, it wasn’t hard to tell.
❝ You’re in pretty deep thought over there man. Barely said a word in like what.. Maybe a day in this realm’s terms? Talk about it. ”
The rest of the Legion was fond of Frank’s bluntness, he didn’t want secrets being held unless they shouldn’t be discussed to begin with.
“ You ever think about what your soulmate is doing ? We don’t know how long we’ve been her or how much longer we’ll still be here. What if we’ve missed out on meeting them already ? Kinda sad when you really think about it..”
Frank didn’t believe in soulmates, nor did he care for the idea. He didn’t need another person, he could be happy on his own.
“ So ? Who cares what a so-called ‘soulmate’ is potentially doing. ”
“ I care! I coulda’ been with em’ long ago, maybe– “
“ HAH! I bet’cha yours is probably a survivor you’ve killed before. ”
“ Man.. “
——————————————————————————————
Frank is running through the corn field trying to catch up to Meg, his legs feel like gelatin and his vision begins to become even more blurred than before.
He’s irritated that his frenzy had to be halted so suddenly, but he physically cannot move a second longer.
Hesitantly he sits between two of the lockers that stood side by side within the shack panting heavily, removing his mask and placing it to his left.
Most of the survivors were horribly injured with one of them already being sacrificed. He could let the last remaining three get a generator done before he gets back up, he wouldn’t take long to get back up again anyways.
“ Hey! You okay over here? ”
He hasn’t heard this voice before, yet there was an odd sense of familiarity in it’s tone.
You were peaking from the front doorway that exposed the fields, not a single scratch on your body. Frank’s eyes scanned you for a moment, discreetly hiding his mask behind him to ensure he didn’t alert you that he was what you needed to avoid.
He’s never even seen you before, however he wants to keep you here for as long as he can. He wants to hear you talk, to watch your look of worry fade into joy when he says something funny, he doesn’t even know your name yet he wishes to stay in your company for an eternity.
“ Oh, M’Fine. What about you ? ”
“ Trying to find everyone else.. I don’t know who’s still standing and who isn’t. Probably not safe to stay in here though, the killer could get us if we stay too long. Can you stand ? ”
You’re considerate. You’ve never met him a day in your life but you look into his eyes with sincerity — your hand reached out to grab his. Frank kicked the mask under a small gathering of hay from where he was sat. He could go undercover just this once.
The way you spoke gave him goosebumps and left and unfamiliar fluttering feeling in his core. Still in such a horrifying situation you were still cracking a joke or two that followed with care whenever he’d so much as stumble on a pebble whilst walking over to where a generator was located.
It felt.. creepy watching you work on generators with his excuse being that he’d ‘keep watch’ in case the killer came so he wouldn’t blow up your progress. Naturally he would’ve killed someone on the spot if he found them repairing like you were doing, but he didn’t want to harm you. Instead you are left unharmed.
Felix limped into the rustic home that sat next to the both of you, Frank had noticed before you.
“ Sit tight for a minute, I think someone’s inside the house. I’ll go in and see if they need any help. ”
You give a nod of understanding and Frank runs inside. He had full intentions of getting rid of your teammate, but he had to do so in a manner that wouldn’t incriminate him.
You could hear the two men screaming from the inside of the home, frozen with fear you didn’t know how to respond. Frank bolted out from the back door and in your direction, grabbing your hand and rushing you over to the tree where the animals were strung.
“ The killer was in there. I got away but he killed the other guy that was in there that I tried to help.. Needed to get you away from there. ”
God lying to you this way made his stomach churn, but he wants to try and remain as close as he can until this all ends. Your brief expression of fear makes his heart ache, would you look at him that way if you found out what what really happening?
All potential what-ifs that had began to plague Frank’s mind were cut off by the sudden sensation of your arms wrapped around his torso.
“ Even though you couldn’t save whoever was there, you still went back for me so that I could be safe.. That’s really cool of you to do. ”
Your words of praise rang through his mind like the sweetest melody, your embrace felt like what could only be described as heavenly. Shyly wrapping his arm around your waist with the other reaching up to place his hand on the back of your head.
A moment of silence had passed, the two of your still standing engulfed in the warmth of one another — this feeling of familiarity that you felt around this unknown man became stronger, hopefully he wouldn’t notice the way your cheeks warmed when he placed the hand that was on your waist onto your face.
You were incredibly stunning, even with your hair disheveled from the running, beads of sweat rolling down your temples because of the heat, your [e/c] eyes still looking deeply into his dark brown ones.
“ Should’ve told you this earlier but my name’s Frank by the way. ”
The two of you let out soft giggles from the late introduction,
“ [y/n]. My name’s [y/n]. ”
“ Pretty name for a pretty girl. ”
You swat at his shoulder causing him to let out a deeper chuckle, your moment of bliss interrupted by the gate beeping next to the both of you.
Frank’s heart sunk, he can’t leave with you. This is where everything crumbles and you’re never going to interact with him again after this.
All he can do is silently watch you pull down on the lever until the exit fully opens, he’s afraid, what does he do? run away? try and follow you out? what does he—
“ [Y/N]! GET AWAY FROM HIM! ”
Fuck. He should have kept chasing Meg at the beginning.
“ What ? Why ? Frank’s with us. ”
“ [y/n] please! He was going to kill me, he already got Felix and Vittorio you need to get away from him! ”
Frank doesn’t say a word nor does he make eye contact with you. His back is still facing Meg, he’s fighting every urge to snap back and kill her right where she is. But instead lets her bolt past him to grab your arm to lead you out the gate you had just opened.
You struggle with her for a moment whilst screaming at her to leave without you to which she hesitantly does. Leaving you with Frank once again.
The brunette still refuses to make eye contact with you, he silently waits for you so shout some kind of obscenity at him out of anger but instead,
“ Y’know if I can come see you after I walk out this gate ? ”
“ Wh- What ? ”
“ Well? ”
“ I- Well um- There’s a path from where the uh.. killers are that leads to where you guys are? We can’t kill ya’ but— “
“ I don’t know that path so swing by, I’ll keep an eye out for you. ”
You give him a smile and a little wave of your pinky and run out through the gate, Frank’s eyes never leaving you until that same familiar fog clouds his vision and disperses to have him back at the campfire.
“ Oh hey— “
“ What do you think about the possibility of your.. ‘soulmate’ being here. In this realm or whatever it is. ”
“ What’s with this sudden interest with soulmates now ? What happened in that trial man? ”
“ Just answer the damn question Joey. ”
Frank can hardly take his friend’s prodding to hear what sparked his sudden interest, bolting up to make his way to where your camp is located so he can see you again.
His mask is on this time, but he’ll take it off just so you can tell it’s him.
He can already see you from the small clearing in the trees looking around for him, to which you spot immediately.
That same beautiful smile on your face as you hop up from your seat to walk to where he was posted.
How much time can he be given now to waste with just you and nobody else.

Number 22! A random scenario I thought about.
Do You Feel Better Now?
Hmm, not behind that one either?
Cale closes the secret passage; the latest one in the long line of secret passages and compartments that he has looked for the children in. Usually, the children spent at least half the day traversing the many hidden paths of the Super Rock Villa. Today, however, he hasn’t seen fur or scale of the children averaging ten years old, though he has caught sight of a flighty Korean teenager. Now if only Choi Han hadn’t kept escaping him.
Catching sight of a dark cloak once more, he resolves to catch the man off guard. If Choi Han was acting strange, then that means he knows where the children are. Or at least, that he knows something.
After even more searching, and eventually reaching the garden, Cale decided to take a small break. Who knew running around a five story villa looking for any sign of its occupants would be so exhausting..
-Are you sure you didn’t miss anything?
It seems even the Cheapskate was tired of this never ending search.
-We’ve been with him this entire time, of course he didn’t. Uuuugghhh. We’ve been looking for hours!! Cale, let’s take a snack break and continue searching after. You haven’t eaten anything aaaalll day!
Of course the Glutton had to chime in with her two cents.
-Hey Super Rock, why did you have to make this stupid villa so ridiculously big?!
-You of all people, Thief? I thought you would appreciate all of the valuables and secret passages.
-Anyone would be frustrated if it took them over two hours to search half a villa, old man!
-Hey! I was in my forties when I died! How is that old?!
-Heh. Well I was in my twenties.
-Hic. Crazy kid, that’s not something to boast about. That’s so saaad! You were all too young! Hic.
-Ah geez.
-Here we go.
-Come on...forty isn’t that young either…
-HAH! So you admit it, old man!
‘Sigh…they’re so loud…’
-In any case, the Thief is right, Super Rock. It has been way too long since Cale started searching. This place is almost…deserted. We haven’t even seen Choi Han in over an hour…
‘Glutton has a point.’ He hadn’t actually seen the Korean in the last hour. It really is..quieter here without everyone.
-Geez, you don’t need to say it like that!
The Crazy Kid complains. Surprisingly, without any cursing. Maybe she’s trying to be considerate? That or she’s almost as tired as he is.
-I mean, you make it sound like they’re never coming back! This isn’t that stupid Wind Island test!
-Crazy Kid!
-Realy?!
-Why would you…
-Oops. Sorry, Cale….I didn’t mean to bring that up. It just sorta…came out..
The Super Rock mentally sighs. For what it’s worth, she really does sound remorseful, but remorse isn’t gonna change how Cale had gone completely stiff at her comment.
They know that Wind Island was a major sore spot for him. Heck, that’s putting it lightly. That test was quite literally his worst fears come to life. It was torture just for them to watch him go through that. To not be able to do anything during the test, Super Rock almost felt like he was going to go crazy with how scared he had been. For them, his friends, who had gone through similar things; for Cale, the child who had lived that nightmare again and again and still had to experience something so horrible; it was almost worse than when he realized that everyone he cared about was gone. Super Rock never wanted to experience something like that happening to one of his people again. And Cale, Cale is most definitely one of his people.
“It’s alright. I know you didn’t mean to.”
All conversation stops as Cale mumbles under his breath. The way his voice shakes ever so slightly doesn’t escape their notice.
It’s not alright. They know that. Cale knows that. It will never be alright. Especially not for him, who doesn’t have the luxury of forgetting something so horrible.
Cale knows she didn’t mean it. Obviously she’s not heartless. None of them are. He doesn’t blame the Crazy Kid for bringing it up,(but he was trying to avoid the comparison as much as possible. Even if the situation was scarily similar.) nor does he blame the Thief for making such a test. At least, not now. She had been insane with grief and anger, unable to make rash decisions, and she had already apologized to him for the test over and over since then. It’s just…It really is a sore spot.. And it seems that no matter how long it’s been, no matter how many times he sees his family happy and whole and alive, there will always be this irrational part of him fearing that what he saw could be his reality. That maybe this is his future. Maybe what he’s living right now is his past. Maybe he’s eternally stuck in a loop where the only thing he does is gain family just to lose them again. Maybe he’s destined to be alone and surviving and empty.
Sometimes he gets stuck in the records. And sometimes they come to him out of nowhere to drag him down into an endless abyss of despair and numbness. Sometimes he wakes up at night and his eyes are locked on a scene he desperately hopes is fake.
He’s been having a lot of those nights lately, now that he thinks about it. Maybe that’s the reason this is getting to him so much.
Shuffle.
Hm?
Step step step..
A shadow is cast over where he slouches on a bench in the villa’s garden. He looks up to see a pair of black irises locked onto his own. When had Choi Han arrived here? Had he been here the whole time and Cale hadn’t noticed?
“I’m sorry.”
What? He’s sorry? For what?
-This dense-!
-Oh come on!
-Sigh…
“I’m really, really sorry, Cale-nim..”
Cale would like to know what exactly he has to apologize for. Did he break one of the windows while training? Did he go too far with a sparring match? Did he try to cook again?
He startles when he feels Choi Han’s hands grasp on to his shoulders tightly, but not enough to hurt. When he looks up(when had he looked down again?), he sees Choi Han’s eyes that hold so much guilt that Cale is momentarily stunned.
“I’m so so sorry, Cale, Rok Soo..”
Huh?
“I’m sorry I left you alone.” Choi Han grits his teeth, eyes locked onto his, as if trying to convey how sorry he is feeling with one look alone. “I should have known-should have realized-….I never wanted to make you cry.”
Wait, what..? Cry?
He brings a hand to his cheek, stunned for a different reason, as he realizes that he was indeed crying. Huh. Why? Why was he crying?
-Cale..
-Punk. You were lost in your records again.
-Hnng. He really cares about you.. Sniffle. He reminds me of my own hyungs. Hic.
-….You do realize that he’s more of an ahjussi, right?
Oh.
For a moment, Cale wasn’t Cale anymore.
For a moment, he had been Kim Rok Soo in his twenties who had just lost everything again. He had been the Kim Rok Soo that never showed any tears outwardly, but inside he felt like he’d been torn to shreds. The Kim Rok Soo that survived because he could not do anything else. Who was numb and tried in vain to push out the bad records but kept drowning in the grief anyway.
For a moment, Cale had thought that he was never Cale in the first place.
-What a scary ability….
He couldn’t forget and he couldn’t remember. He had been stuck in limbo, and Choi Han had been able to see it.
Maybe it’s because he had Choi Jung Soo’s memories. Maybe it’s because he’d been around Cale long enough to be able to read him so easily. Whatever the case, Choi Han had been able to see what Cale was going through. And Cale can’t decide whether to be relieved or angry that he’s so transparent to someone.
The Super Rock spoke gently, yet firmly, as if sensing Cale’s own emotions rather than just hearing his thought.
-Cale, he cares about you. They all do. You know they would never want to hurt you. Cale…
-All they want is for you to be happy. Choi Han, Prince Alberu, Raon, Even your old team..
Flinch
-Your family just wants to see you happy and healthy. Just like you want for them.
Ha
“haha..ha ha ha..”
“U-um, Cale-nim..?” Choi Han nervously looks on as Cale lets out soft laughter, unsure of why exactly his liege is laughing like that. It doesn’t seem like an empty laugh? But it’s not a full laugh? Why exactly is Cale laughing?? Choi Han keeps his hands on Cale’s shoulders, just in case.
Eventually, the laughter subsides.
“Sigh. Choi Han.”
“Yes Cale-nim?”
“You can let go now.”
“A-ah! Yes!”
Choi Han jerks back, as if burned. He nervously stands there, avoiding eye contact.
Cale stands up slowly, stretching his legs after sitting for so long. Huh. Has it really been that long? He can’t exactly see the sky down here.
He closes his eyes and sighs before opening them. He then looks straight at the not-so-young man in front of him.
“Choi Han. Thanks.”
Choi Han raises his eyes to meet Cale’s calm gaze. There’s a not quite smile on his liege’s face.
Choi Han is relieved.
He smiles brightly; what some might even call innocent.
“You’re welcome, Cale-nim.”
———-
Choi Han later reveals that the kids and everyone else was planning a surprise birthday party for “Cale.” Which Cale didn’t know about because he doesn’t know “Cale’s” birthday. Choi Han couldn’t keep it a secret after what happened. I don’t blame him. Deal with your trauma, Cale.

Sonic Movie 3 Predictions and Angst
The hyper fixation is slowly creeping in and I must let it out, so here’s a compilation of scenes I can imagine happening in Sonic 3. Let’s see how many I’ll get right!
1. Shadow has parallels with all 3 of the boys, not just Sonic
We all know already Shadow and Sonic have similar backstories with how Sonic experienced the loss of Long Claw, the same way Shadow lost Maria. But while Sonic chooses to move on, Shadow wants revenge. Sonic can relate to Shadow in a way, and that very obviously will be brought up in the movie.
But what can also be brought up is how Knuckles also experienced grief and dealt with it by seeking revenge for YEARS of his life, he more than anyone can understand Shadow.
And finally Tails, which is a bit of a stretch from my part, but considering Shadow is so different from everyone else, not only for his appearance but also his powers, he might feel as if he doesn’t belong anywhere else, Tails can relate to that, since he too felt like he was two different because of his two tails.
I can see they all trying to reach out to Shadow in their own ways, obviously at first it doesn’t work but with each interaction they start to slowly break more and more of his defenses and he starts to reflect on their words, maybe their words remind him of Maria and by the end he’ll realize he’s not doing what she’d want.
2. Stone is the one who frees Shadow and the one who tells the team Robotnik is alive
Double prediction I guess, but pretty much what I’m saying is that Stone is the catalyst for this whole movie, and he did all that for one simple reason… Robotnik was bored.
We’ve seen in the after credits scene of Sonic 2 that he disguised himself as a G.U.N agent and he overheard about Project Shadow, I think, after that he’d do a little research, and figure out the password to release Shadow from the pod is M A R I A. Hence why the commander says in the trailer there has been a security breach. Now don’t ask me how Stone got away with opening the pod without the government arresting him, boy is sneaky I guess.
As for how the team figured out Robotnik is alive, my guess is that Stone sent them a message through one of Robotnik’s robots, inviting them to get assistance from the doctor.
Did you catch that? He’s offering to help them solve a problem HE caused, my man is pulling the strings.
And for what? To get Robotnik back into action of course, out of his depression, and maybe find out more about his past in the process, considering Shadow was created by his grandfather.
So in team Sonic’s lowest moment, they agree to get help, and ya know what, I’m 90% certain Robotnik will betray they after their truce, because of course he will, and Stone will love it because that’s the doctor he knows and loves.
3. Maddie will help heal Knuckles
Maddie is a vet, as we’ve seen in the first movie when she helps Sonic after he’s passed out. Now that hasn’t been brought up in a while and I think it would be a huge missed opportunity if she doesn’t help out with Knuckles broken arm or whatever Shadow did with his arm in the trailer.
Additionally, I feel like after that first encounter Tom and Maddie would be worried sick and conflicted if they should let the boys go on this mission or not, to which Tom decides he’s coming too, hence why we see a shot of him wearing a G.U.N uniform, albeit, stolen because he’s just in disguise.
Bonus round of small predictions:
- Knuckles calls Tails by his name and not just “Fox”
- Sonic finds tapes that Shadow and Maria recorded together
- More Tails screen time (please I beg)
- Amy and/or Metal Sonic in the post credit scene
And that’s it for now! Might add more later and reblog it,
Thanks for reading!

little favours - biker!bucky x reader
Tumblr media
Plot: Since Bucky saved her from her shitty boss, Y/N hasn’t seen him again. For a while, she gets closer and closer to giving up hope. Until he comes back. And this time, he’s asking for her help. Pairing: Biker!Bucky Barnes x Female!Reader Warnings: Mentions of sick kids/kids in hospital in case that’s a trigger. Again, Biker!Bucky likes using doll as his pet name (yes, he’s a warning, hahaha). As always if I miss any triggers, let me know. Notes: This is part two to my first Biker!Bucky fic, Knights in Leather Jackets which you can read here if you haven’t already. I hope you like it. Not beta’d, so any mistakes are my own.
Almost two weeks since she first met Bucky, Y/N is in the ice cream parlour again. Thankfully, it seems like her boss listened to Bucky’s warning, and he hasn’t bothered her since. So, ever since he left, Y/N has essentially been running the parlour herself. And for once, she’s started loving her job again. Shockingly, it turns out that not having her overbearing boss constantly breathing down her neck makes her happier and work better. As she cleans the counter, her eyes flicker to the note Bucky left her, his number still scrawled onto it. Despite how much happier she is now that her boss is gone, she is disappointed that she doesn’t have an excuse to call Bucky and have him down at the coffee shop at a moment’s notice.
“I could just call him, regardless of if I need help or not. I mean, he was obviously flirting.” The grin on Bucky’s face as he spoke to her replays in her mind once more, and already Y/N is grinning like a lovesick idiot.
Although, to be honest, that’s exactly what she is. Ever since he left her store, Bucky has constantly been in her mind. But somehow, even after everything they’ve been through, she just can’t bring herself to call him. Even though he saved her, she’s not sure where, if anywhere, that leaves them now. Of course, she’s under Bucky’s protection now, but whether it’s just his or his entire gang’s (if he has one, that is) is left to be seen. And besides, how long does it last? Is it lifelong or just until everything with her boss blows over? Or maybe her boss has tried to squeal, so Bucky and the others are lying low and not wanting to drag her into this.
“But I am a part of this.” Y/N glances back over at the note again. Bucky’s laughter fills her mind. “Fuck it.” Pulling out her phone, Y/N dials Bucky’s number.
Ring.
Ring.
The longer it goes without an answer, the more Y/N’s stomach twists and her heart sinks. And what little hope she has of seeing Bucky again slowly slips away.
When it hits voicemail, Y/N isn’t even surprised. Maybe she’s right. Maybe he doesn’t want to see her again. Or at least, not anytime soon. “Hey Bucky, it’s me, Y/N. Don’t worry, I’m okay. I was just wondering if I could see you again? …To thank you, I mean. Just come back to the shop. I’ll be here. Bye.” Sighing, she puts the phone down. Hopefully, she does see him again.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Do you wanna get that, Buck?” Steve raises a brow, gesturing to Bucky’s ringing phone.
“No, I’ll get it later. It’s alright.” Yet, the phone keeps ringing.
“Buck….”
“Steve, just finish the meeting. I promise I’ll get it later.” Before Steve can say anything else, Bucky grabs his phone, switching it off and silencing the call.
“Well, okay. As I was saying, the charity ride and fundraiser for the local hospital went really well, but I think there are still some things we can do.”
“What about a visit?” Sam pipes up. “We’ve done that a few times already, and the kids seem to love it.” Steve nods. Immediately, Y/N enters Bucky’s mind. Although he’s been thinking about her a lot recently. Actually, he’s been thinking about her since he left her. Her smile, her gorgeous face…god. He’d love to go back and see her again, but he’s been so busy recently that he hasn’t had the chance to. But now, he has the perfect excuse.
“Buck? You okay?” Steve frowns, curious about his friends’ silence.
“I have an idea.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The next day, Y/N is back in the shop, sorting things through the back. Suddenly, the chimes above the door sound, signifying a customer. A familiar figure leans against the wall, sunglasses perched on his head. As soon as she sees him, she recognises him right away, and her heart begins to pound. “Bucky?”
“Hey doll.”
“You’re back.” Y/N breathes, still a little in shock. Like if someone pinched her, she’d wake up again. If this is a dream, she hopes nobody pinches her. “Do you...want some more raspberry ripple?” She asks, immediately regretting it. Yes, ask the hot biker about ice cream instead of on a date with you. Good idea.
“I’d love some, but not yet. Actually, I have a favour to ask you.” As she nods in agreement, Y/N can’t help but feel a little disappointed. Honestly, she thought Bucky was coming back just to see her, and maybe ask her out. But at least this still gives her a chance to see him, which is better than nothing. And he looks even better than she remembers. He’s sending her heart into a flutter all over again.
“Sure, what’s up?”
“We’re doing some more fundraising for the kids’ hospital, and planning a visit too.” So the favour is for sick kids. Whilst she was more worried about her and Bucky’s relationship. Great. Now she feels like an asshole. “We were thinking of bringing them a treat, so I thought I’d call up the sweetest woman I know to see if she can lend a hand.” Y/N smiles, already feeling the heat rising in her cheeks. “So.” Bucky trails off. “Can you help?”
Like she’d ever say no.
“Of course I will.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Thank you for the ice cream.” The young boy smiles up at her, and Y/N has to stop herself from crying. Although she’s enjoying spending this time with Bucky and his friends, it’s been amazing to see the kids and provide them with a little happiness during their hospital stay. Despite everything they’ve been through, both they and their families are all so kind and cheerful. Giving them some ice cream to help them feel better is the least she can do.
“Thanks for doing this, by the way. I was right. You really are an angel.” Bucky tells her as they head towards the next room. Smiling, Y/N shrugs.
“Of course I would. And besides, I’m the angel? This coming from the guy who beat up my asshole boss and is giving ice cream to sick kids. Sounds like you deserve that title more than I do.”
“I told you, doll. It’s what we do. And besides, I only came up with the idea, you’re the one giving it out.”
“Acting like a regular Prince Charming is a daily occurrence for you? Sure.” Bucky blushes at her words, grinning like the same lovesick fool she knows she is around him.
“Bucky!” A little girl grins from her bed when they enter the next room, waving excitedly.
“Melody! Hey kiddo! Good to see you again.” He perches on the end of her bed, listening to her excited chatter about what she’s been doing since he last saw her. The sight makes Y/N’s heart swell. Despite how big and scary Bucky looks to other people, he’s so kind and loving to everyone. And Y/N’s hopelessly in love with him.
“He does this a lot, you know? They all do. Means the world to her.” Melody’s mother smiles, coming to stand by Y/N. “Melody adores him.” She’s not the only one.
“I have a surprise for you. I asked your mommy and your doctor, and they said you can have some ice cream. And it’s your favourite, strawberry.” Melody’s face lights up as Y/N passes over some for her.
“Thanks Bucky!” Melody squeals, wrapping her tiny arms around him.
“Hey it’s not just me. My friend Miss Y/N is the one who brought you the ice cream.”
“Thank you, Miss Y/N!” She calls across the room. The sweetness and innocence in her voice makes Y/N smile.
“You’re very welcome Melody. But you can just call me Y/N, alright?”
“She’s pretty.” Melody whispers to Bucky, yet is still just loud enough for Y/N to hear. “She looks like a princess.”
“Yeah.” Bucky chuckles, gazing over at Y/N like she hung the moon. “I know.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Later, after Y/N and Bucky have finished visiting the kids, he offers to take her home on his bike. Of course, Y/N accepted right away. “Remember your helmet. Couldn’t live with myself if something happened to you.” Y/N puts it on, hoping she’s quick enough to mask how smitten with him she is. This man is going to be the death of her one day. “Hold on tight, okay?” Tentatively, Y/N reaches out, wrapping her arms around Bucky’s waist and scooting closer to him. The scent of patchouli oil, Bucky’s scent, fills her senses again, and she inhales deeply.
“How is it he already smells like home?”
As Bucky drives down the streets and roads of New York, Y/N leans back a little, enjoying the ride. This is what she used to dream about. Sitting on a bike and feeling free. If only she knew it’d come true. And that it’s even better than she dreamt. Although...that’s mainly because of Bucky.
But soon, Bucky pulls up outside her apartment, the ride and her dream over. “Thanks Bucky.”
“Not at all. Thank you for coming today.”
“I told you, I’m glad to help. I’ll see you around, okay?”
“Y/N, wait.” Bucky orders, stopping her. “Can I….” She raises a brow, waiting for his explanation. It’s strange, seeing the intimidating, yet flirty and confident Bucky, now a blushing mess around her. Although, it’s kind of endearing. “Can I take you out? On a date?”
“Yeah.” she gasps, already nodding with excitement. “Of course.” Bucky grins.
“How about I pick you up this Saturday, then? Say…about seven?”
“Okay. See you then.” Suddenly, Bucky leans in, pecking her on the cheek. His beard grazes her cheek, which tingles under its touch.
“See you then, doll.”
